The quality of the sport will always be debated but I am falling in love with ladies football! My young daughter is a goal keeper at the centre of excellence and idolizes Karen Bardsley, the current England and GB keeper.
Through social media and the PR dept at Lincoln Ladies (where she and several England players play) my daughter has been mascot twice at Sincil Bank. Karen has given her signed gloves and always takes time to chat and give my daughter some tips. The likes of Jess Clarke and Casey Stoney are brilliant with the kids, really inspirational. Both of my daughters were mascots on Sunday for £10 each! They warmed up with the players and both walked out with the team. Despite the rapid growth of the game the crowds are woeful and due to funding they are moving to Notts County next season MK styley! It reminds me of football back in the 80's. So much more accessible and in touch with the fans.
For what it's worth, I think the standard is pretty decent. They will never emulate the men's game for obvious reasons but there are some crunching tackles and players like Jess Clarke are seriously rapid. The games I've been to have provided some good entertainment.

£10 to be a mascot you say? Does this include any changing room access?

Shouldn't this be moved into the "jokes" category?

Okay, I give up. I don't want to be part of this anymore.

Shouldn't this be moved into the "jokes" category? Probably applies more to the entire 'Cobblers Corner'
