I doubt we could find 50 floating fans who would watch the Cobblers if we paid them 16 quid right now.

Not really sure what a 'floating' fan is but I assume its one who doesn't support any team but just watches random games anywhere.


Other types include the die hard season ticket holders which there are 2500. Then comes the regulars who watch 10 to 20 games. There's probably 3000 of these.


Then the once in while fans who are ardent Cobblers fans who due to family commitments, work or distance can no longer make it to more than a hand full of games, just a guess but 2000 in this category?

Then come our most important group of fans which are the yet to be converted types, they number over 100,000, all young people who have never been or very rearly watched any football played live. all live in the town and county.

Just a small percentage of the latter would improve the playing budget no end.

As you say, they know 3000 brain washed disciples have either committed for the season or will show up regardless at top dollar.

The increase in match day prices is poor by the club but it has been compounded by the awful start to the season.
