My first thought last night was that I now have some guaranteed disappointment reserved for summer 2014.
To be fair it was a very entertaining game and we look much better without Lampard. Townsend has been a revelation.

He looked really fast like Walcott, but with a chance of some end product!

Exactly, perhaps we could go for a relegation - knocked out in the group stages double.

The worrying thing is that you wouldn't get very good odds on that!

We could be the third seed in our group behind Brazil/Argentina and Netherlands/Portugal, getting out of our group will depend greatly on the draw.. Especially if is confirmed that we are in the third pot.

I mentioned that to a couple of large gentlemen on the train going home from the Poland match. They agreed but also mentioned their allegiance to Arsenal !

Townsend has looked dangerous playing for Spurs whenever I've seen him but I would guess that coaches would now look to exploit any weaknesses he has in the light of a more detailed examination of video evidence. I seem to remember that Clarke Carlisle was very impressed with him in one of those Euro games.

Oxelade-Chamberlain is potentially a better footballer in that position (both sides) than both of them, just needs to get over his injury and start playing regularly for Arsenal.

Iceland had to finish above Slovenia and Norway to claim second spot, Croatia had to finish above Scotland and Wales, Iceland had the harder group.  Evil

Potentially, but I have increasing concerns he won't be anywhere near ready to be a full international player come 2014 world cup. I hope him and Barkley come good though! Euro's 2016 is our year, you heard it here first  Cool
