Not good performances from the back two (Cahill and Jags) and the midfield two (StevieG and Hendo) which would and did have a detrimental effect on the rest of the team performance.
I thought that Rooney, Sturridge and Welbeck did OK.
Their skipper should have been sent off for two yellows and the Spanish official appeared a bit more lenient towards the Uruguayans than us throughout.
Unfortunately we don't do diving and conning the official very well....

If that had been Thomas Muller, rather than Daniel Sturridge, that got an arm across the neck he'd have been jumping in the defenders face, or rolling along on the floor demanding a tracheotomy! - Whilst I don't condone any form of play acting, and what Muller did in the Portugal game was unnecessary, you do wonder why everyone's not at it all the time. It's bad for the game, but it seems its the only way to get a decision half the time.

Queer eye for the Cobblers 🌈

Thought I'd better repost this here, is also in the "managers" thread.
Interesting, they're not keen on failure the Italians. Whereas the FA pat each other on the back, say carry on Roy you are doing a fine job. Meanwhile they pay a ****ney spiv from the entertainment and television industry (who openly stated he supports Brentford and Man Utd at the same time)a nice little QUANGO to come up with a joke solution to all England's problems that involves crushing everything from Premier League downwards. Face facts here we are sh!t but do you know what? We don't care, it's only a circus to break up the summer.
Cobblers back to training tomorrow a bright(er) season to look forward to as well so who honestly will care about England's plight come the beginning of August?
No-one
Well no-one but those FA bigwigs who will be scared stiff of having their next freeloading jolly to foreign shores cut short by the team getting knocked out!

Only Messi can now prevent ze Germans achieving world dominance. I would say Robben but a 5mph breeze on the battlefield would lead to a theatrical swan dive and cries of "medic!"
That was like a training exercise and the Germans were almost embarrassed to keep stroking the ball in.
As for Luiz, Chelsea must be laughing all the way to the bank. He is like a Brazilian Clarke Carlisle. I hope PSG have kept the receipt. I reckon England could've narrowly lost 5 v 4 to that sorry bunch.

Huh?

Not a very good footballer. It was to exaggerate a point and wouldn't expect CC to side foot a free kick into the top corner. At the very least he is no centre half. One of the most inept performances you could get from a 50 million player.
Good to see them getting stuffed though.

That was a krul way to lose. So the final. Death by drowning or hanging?

I'll go for the Argies as Messi is a genius and I like corned beef.
