So, there has been much written on this subject and having got back from the game have to say that credit where credit is due I thought we played pretty well today against a decent side.
I hope I am fair with my comments when at a game and certainly no grounds to let team or managers know I wasn't happy. Wouldn't say I was ecstatic but you can appreciate effort and some improvement.

That's a little harsh. Whilst I agree that those present can offer a blow by blow account and can say whether we were unlucky (or lucky!) anyone can read a league table and see the deficiencies in the squad. You don't have to be there to see that W2 D3 L7 is not good enough and suggests major problems.

Actually the Marquis is correct; certainly those who saw the game have a tad more credibility Roll Eyes in their opinion Wink

I was really encouraged by what I saw today, we should been 3 or 4 up by the time they scored, we feel asleep for their second and it is disappointing that we only came away with a point. What this does prove is that since Reid has come in and since we have captured some mobile strikers we look a much better side!

Thought the standard was pretty terrible but Hines stood out.

plenty of effort
but I keep hearing that there's no effort from the players? Can the "out" camp all get 'on message' please? It'll save me the hassle of having to keep remembering all of the contradictions in their arguments so if you could all just come out with the same story it'll be much appreciated, please and thank you  Smiley

The proof was very much in the pudding yesterday. My criticism is not blinkered it is fair. I have been to three games this season I did not see enough effort at Mansfield or v Torquay at home. I saw just about enough yesterday. I also have to  take back comments I made earlier about Morris who I thought was pretty good again there is effort from all. Carter reminds me a lot of Paul Trollope, obviously class but hustled and bustled out of it at times in division two.

Erm, Morris was crap apart from the goal and Carter was good, also he is nothing like Paul Trollope. Apart from that though, spot on.

care to elaborate as to why  you don't think he's like Trollope. I think Carter has played st a higher level and at the start of his Cobblers career, just like Trollope did, he is struggling to adapt to the lower leagues.
Morris worked really hard box to box but I expect you didn't notice that.
By the way your glasses were handed in the other week, best go and pick them up it seems you are missing them.  Smiley

I get your point that they're similar in terms of their respective careers & sometimes their lack of influence on a game but they are very different midfielders. Morris does work hard and took his goal very well but I honestly thought he was our worst player for the first hour, his ball retention in the first-half was very poor. I do prefer him in the middle though, but like Carter he often gets hustled off it.
