The club are making noises about signing Luke Norris from Brentford. Would you be prepared to donate to a 12th Man fund like they have at Oxford which is

"A ring fenced transfer fund to be used to sign players, pay wages and bring in emergency loan signings"

Oxford have already raised over 50k with this initiative and use the 12th man idea to bring solidarity to the fans and raise money in other ways.

This would be an ideal initiative to be handled by our Supporter's Trust I feel

Like the principle. I already contributed £400 plus for a season ticket and I should earn commission for the people I drag along in the vain hope of converting to the claret way.

I think someone should just take this city of Peterborough and just... just flush it down the f***in' toilet

Sounds like a good idea so long as when he's sold on for a fee the money goes back into the fund.

Good idea in theory.....

Just a shame ADB spvnked most of the budget on dross during the Summer...

Norris looks a real find & perhaps if we didn't offer 1 year contracts to the likes of Hooper & Harriott then we could afford to sign him without the need for us fans to chip in...

Having no in house food and beverages, A supporters bar that is tiny and open for 3 hours fortnightly and very few families sitting in the massed ranks of empty seats in the family enclosure what's needed is educating the higher echelons of this club into how to run a professional sporting club that attracts and keeps the locals interested and making them  feel part of the club.

The days of bucket collections are a thing of the past, lets ask the most successful local club in Britain as how to get it right, and we only have go down Jimmies end for the answers.

I like the idea of fans signing players on the idea of it working like dipping into the shares market. Could make some nice profits between us if all worked out well ...

But it's nonsense to suggest that it's "ring fenced" - if Oxford have an extra £50k to spend from this source, then that's £50k less they have to find for the electricity bill, admin staff pay etc etc - the club has a set of running costs to meet including transfers, players' pay and everything else - it all goes into and out of the same pot. Now, if you want to give the club extra money, then there never has been anything to stop you from doing so....but that's all this fund really is, in an organised way.

Completely agree. Surely the money spent on the boring stuff such as the electricity bill is just as important, if not more than blowing it on extra players. It's a good idea to raise money for the club but it's silly to demand it's to pay for the players. Let DC blow his unhard money on yet another mediocre loanee.
I would be more than happy to contribute to a fund that's ring fenced to NOT be paid towards players but facilities for the supporters. That way if I have to continue to watch the dross I've endured so far this season it would be in marginally less discomfort.

Not sure how possible any of that is, but Ferdinand and Norris coming in permanantly would be great coups, I think.

“In an ideal world the best thing to do is be to wait a little bit longer, assess it, and then judge it on an ongoing basis,” said Boothroyd.

What could be clearer than that?!

Some people won't listen....

K.F is just a stop gap loan no more no less.

Despite the Peterborough ET saying that he is on his way out. And now confrmed.

I'm nothing to do with the trust but I do put £5 a month by DD into their 200 club.
Would'nt mind doing the same for the club if they ran something similar.

Pretty much what others have said...

The problem with this is that it would simply be soaked into the main budget. Put it this way. We raise a load of money (say 50k) by January.  DC will look at the pot and say to Martin, You've got 50k less than the original budget plus 50k raised from the fans to get us out of the s hit.

I can bring it up at as an idea at the next board meeting if you wish. Maybe you'd like to come along and present the idea yourself? Smiley
