I'll start it with this:

http://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/news/It39s-not-an-offence-to.6313975.jp

Clarification that the flying or wearing the flag of St George is not be an offence.
It's a sign of the times that the authorities have to confirm this.  Roll Eyes

I am sorry but the fact that they have to confirm this is a disgrace - if someone told me I could not wear the st George I might have to stick it wear the sun dont shine of the person telling me not to.

How can it be racist.

Most of these stories are non-starters in the first place, and the Police only have to come out with these statements because of idiots believing what they read in The Sun.

Anyway, which seven will be most likely to be left out of the final squad following last nights performance?

Upson, Dawson, Parker, SWP, Bent.... I suppose the other two depends on whether Gareth Barry decides he's fit or not.

Upson, Dawson, Parker, SWP, Bent.... I suppose the other two depends on whether Gareth Barry decides he's fit or not.

I can't disagree with those five, I believe that it's either Walcott or Lennon (not both) to go and I would like to see Adam Johnson included as a late comer/wild card.
Carrick worries me if we are relying on him to provide the holding midfielder role behind Gerrard and Lampard in place of Barry.
I know Huddlestone also hasn't previously been included but I wouldn't mind him being in for that role.
It's a shame that Hargreaves wasn't given a few more games at the end of the season.

Baines was a bit suspect last night but he wil get have to get used to the pace of international football and hopefully we will not have to use him.

So, your five and I raise it either Walcott or Lennon and Carrick or Barry (although he is likely to go with Carrick instead of Huddlestone if Barry is fit).  Cool

i would agree with the same 5, given that carragher came on at centre half and not right back.

you can add warnock to that list as baines will be number 2 left back.

so that leaves 1 more to be left out.

i would imagine it will be either huddlestone or barry depending on fitness.

which would mean walcott, lennon and johnson will all go.

... saying that, I'd forgotten that Stephen Warnock won't go as Baines and Ashley Cole will be the left-backs. Heskey not getting any game time last night looks a bit omnious for his chances too; the selection next week against Japan will be interesting with the Chelsea lads back in contention. Joe Cole's one who'll be sweating.

Only thing I'd disagree with would be that I'd take both Walcott and Lennon. Both showed glimpses of what they can do last night; I love players who puts defenders on the back foot.

I agree about Adam Johnson.

GK

Green, James, Hart

Defenders

Johnson, Carragher, Cole, Baines, Terry, Ferdinand, King

Midfielders

Gerrard, Lampard, Lennon, Milner, Walcott, Johnson, Carrick, Barry(or Huddlestone), J Cole

Forwards

Heskey, Rooney, Defoe, Crouch

Thats what i think it will be...

Leaving Warnock, Upson, Dawson, SWP, Parker, Bent and either Barry or Huddlestone out of the 23.

Unlucky on SWP but i don't think you need him as well as Lennon and Walcott. Milner offers better cover down the left and can also drop in at RB if theres a crisis at the back.

Would like to have seen Parker instead of Carrick but i'd imagine that won't be the case...

A work coleague of mine lives in Kettering and they got a letter from the council saying that they cant display St. George's flags outside their property and England shirts cannot be worn in pubs during the world cup... I wonder if they will be able to enforce this after the police clarification?

I'm sorry but that's got to be b*llocks....

How does the Council have the power to tell people what they can't wear???

I would personally leave...

Dawson, Upson, Parker, Wallcott, Shaun-Wright and Warnock....

As for last night, I thought that we were absolutely s***e. First half was an absolute disgrace, but yet again England sneak a win and everyone’s hyping it up. Play like that against a decent side and we will get battered.

Mexico had 16 shots and 66% of possession but couldn’t capitalise.

As long as Carrick doesn't go I'll be happy.... he was pony last night...as was the atmosphere.
My mate who sits with me in the North Stand at Sixfields commented " it's almost as quite as our home matches in Teyn"....

He wasn't wrong....well done to the Mexicans for at least enjoying themselves!
Great banter in the Green Man overlooking Wembley on a glorious hot afternoon/evening!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forgot about Warnock (I thought he was going as reserve manager?)

Revise my "unlucky's" to: Warnock, Upson, Dawson, SWP, Parker, Bent and Carrick/Barry (although it will probably be Huddlestone)

Agreed, he was dog s***e. I honestly forgot he was playing until he got taken off.
The thing is we have so many average players; there are about 10 players that can easily miss out. Our squad doesn’t have much quality about it. The likes of Baines, Warnock, Wallcott, Dawson, Upson, SWP, Huddleston, Carrick, Parker and Bent are all good club plays but at international level are they good enough?

Great pub when visiting England.

Carrick played himself out of the squad last night if you ask me.
