You know, that would be great. It's hard for me to make that final break from the club after over 40 years but that would do it.
Seconded. I would stay away then until DC goes, which by my reckoning is at least 2026. Although on second thoughts I quite enjoyed the banter with Atkins' missus in the final matchdays of his reign.

It's all my fault, that bloody badge! And I would have got away with it if it wasn't for you pesky fans

And also I'm sorry to cpmment with the directors who voted for Sammo's appointment, unless that it is it was DC's decision alone

Resurrected this thread to bring some balance to the state of the club debate. Interestingly enough, most people voted that the buck stops with the chairman which is interesting given the hysteria towards Sammo on here.
I repeat, if you sack Sammo there'll just be another scapegoat down the line

...I have seen an increasing number of my friends choose going to the Saints over the Cobblers as they feel it is a much better match day experiance for their young families.
You must have a bunch of well off chums in that case.
How do we improve the match day experience then to gain the next generation of fans? I look forward to posts on that separate topic board. Phil

Its not about being a scapegoat If Sampson had achieved what was reasonably expectable in the league this season then he would be fine, the team is massively underachieving and like any other manager at any other club in a similar position he is at the risk of the sack because of it. Its hardly a poison chalice any manager worth their salt with the current squad and resources would have a realistic expectation of a top half finish.

To be frank i'm starting to get a bit pissed off with all the Sammo lovers. IF it was anyone else in charge, not a club legend, then the 'hysteria' would have been a lot lot worse. We could keep letting our hearts rule our heads here and supporting Sammo in the hope that overnight he suddenly becomes a manager, or we could see sense and get an actual 'manager' in charge.
Before anyone cries, i'm not meaning anyone in particular.
Just cannot understand how people can excuse our current plight.

2 wins, 1 draw and 7 defeats from the last 10 games and NOBODY on here would be surprised if that becomes 2-1-9 from 12 by 5pm Saturday.
22nd in League 2, only two teams below us and both of them have stuck 4 by us in the last few weeks.
Not only that, there has been no sign whatsoever in those games of the "lovely football" people were raving about earlier in the season.
I don't know who the new manager should be other than it should be an outsider but I ask you in all honesty, could they really have done any worse?

And you can add to that being beaten 3-1 by the team immediately above us.
