Obviously there a a few critics of Sammo's team selection. Given a squad free from injury what do you think is our best side/formation?

I'd say

                       Dunn

            Johnson Holt Beckwith Hall

       Rodgers Wedderburn Osman Jacobs

                                Davis
                      McKenzie

But my ideal 11 would be

                            Dunn

                  Rodgers Holt Beckwith Hall

                  Johnson Osman Wedderburn

                   Thornton  Mckenzie Davis

It's not exactly a compliment, but Hinton and Beckwith are the best centre-backs we have on the books. Last season they formed a decent partnership for a long period. I've seen nothing of Holt and beckwith/tozer to convince me they'd be capable of anything like a solid pairing.

No positional sense whatsoever, constantly giving the ball away. Not convinced.

Well, admittedly Holt did have a wobbly one yesterday, but you can't condemn him on the one display, otherwise we'd be leading them all to the slaughterhouse tomorrow!

If Sammo is still in charge, then he needs to go back to basics. He must recall Hall, a solid, experienced defender who's been inexplicably dropped since his return from injury. I'd move Holt back to left-back, a position in which he's spent the vast majority of his career and move Hall into the centre, where hopefully he'd have a calming influence.

                                                              Dunn

                                            Johnson Beckwith   Hall   Holt

Thornton (with a license to roam) Osman Wedderburn Davis

                                                     Mckay   Mckenzie

I'd start with bringing in a New Keeper on loan.

Why? Surely a centre-back/experienced central midfielder/target man are priority over a goalkeeper?

Because Dunn hardly ever gets us out of trouble by making any saves. The ones he does manage to pull of are normally routine - if it's ever a 50/50 or a semi-difficult save needs to be made then you know we are going to concede. Granted he can't be blamed for the defensive mistakes we make but his job as our last line of defence is to get us out of trouble once in a while and I don't think the percentages are in our/his favour with that at all. Also his kicking seems to be getting worse. Maybe we do have other areas of priority that we need to improve first but Dunn inspires very little confidence in me.

                                   Dunn

              Johnson        Beckwith       Holt

Rodgers                                                  Davis

                    Wedderburn     Osman

                                Thornton

                    McKay           McKenzie

(With Rodgers and Davis bombing up and down the wings. I would also replace Wedderburn with an experienced campaigner if we could find one, and if he's not fit enough to play at the moment, I'd put Jacobs in alongside Osman. Otherwise, Jacobs would replace "60-minute man" Thornton at around the hour mark and would play as an impact sub.)
