The lad seems to be being bullied off the ball all the time. I would guess Mckay weighs less than 12 stone which is a shame because he's a decent finisher and has got some lovely turns.
When Sammo was asked if he had McKay on a weights programme he said no which I find suprising because he needs to bulk up if he's gonna make an impact in any league.
I guess because he's still growing there's the possibility that weights may leave him fatigued and energy is one of his main attributes. Problem is that when the pitches get worse his little turns are gonna be less effective and the mud monsters like Branston will kick him into next week.
p.s. as I've said elsewhere I would take the alleged money for Zola and bid for Bauza of Hereford in an instant if I was DC

despite everything i think Billy is vastly improved from last season. I think he has toughened up, no doubt about it. But he is small and as a lone striker will always struggle. Thought he did great in the first half with leon.
If you're talking about weight then you may want to look elsewhere. And what has happened to Jonno this season?

I should hope he weighs less than 12st, he's about 5ft 5!

I reckon McKay will turn out to be a very useful forward, but he needs to sort his mental approach - given two options 1)Try for a go at goal or 2)Be safer and shovel it on to someone else - he takes option 2 far too often. He also needs to learn to shoot with his right foot.

How strange he should choose not to shoot when our 'fans' constantly scream "SHOOT" and then when the player shoots and misses they get called all the names under the sun.

I find it quite amusing when you hear shouts of shoot when we've only just got into the opposition half irrespective of who has the ball. Then the same people that have shouted shoot moan like nothing when the ball leaves the stadium. Oh the wonderful intelligence of Cobblers fans lol

This exact thing happened to Wedderburn yesterday.

Yes the shouts of 'shoot' really annoy me, I would love every goal to be a 25 yarder but 99% of the time those efforts fly over the bar....or hit an unfortunate supporter!
Anyway as for McKay, needs a rest I think, but that didn't do Wedderburn any favours, but then if McKay needs to put on weight....

McKay was the only threat we had in that shambles of a second half, created our only decent chance of the half on his own, and had no support whatsoever. The guy's got a lot of potential IMO but needs a lot more support.

Exactly - he doesn't need to put on weight, he needs a team that plays to his strengths (mobility, agility, speed, touch) and gives him some support (ideally, a version of Bayo that can do his own running!). I think Billy will be a very good footballer, but it's never going to be as a bulky centre forward receiving long, high balls with his back to goal, however much he muscles up.

Weight and strength are not necessarily the same thing. He just needs to work on his overall positioning and anticipation to make the most of his time on the ball and expect the challenges to come in. Simon Cox isn't big. Jermaine Defoe isn't big. Ashley Young isn't big.
It's probably about playing the right type of football to suit him. Numerous times on Saturday there were passes on from my vantage point high in the West that seemed easy through balls that were not taken. Maybe not seen from pitch level but not glory balls or the overplaying that seems to overcomplicate much of our approach work. Sometimes lovely to watch but it means nothing without end product.
How does a professional sportsman training full time with a fitness coach etc get fat? Shouldn't happen. It wouldn' happen down at the egg chasers!

I think someone should just take this city of Peterborough and just... just flush it down the f***in' toilet

Now don't get me wrong here, I love Billy he is one of my favourites and has really come on from last season so this is not a put down. But.....
Billy, please come back in the afternoons and work on your finishing with your right foot. Right at the end of tonights game he was through on goal with just the keeper to beat buy instead of passing it by the keeper with his right foot he decided to turn back onto his left and let the two defenders behind him back in to block his effort. I remember earlier in the season when we drew 0-0 with Accrington he was through on goal and hit it really weakly with his right and fluffed the opportunity. He is young enough and I believe good enough to work hard on his right foot during the week and I am sure he will reap the benefits of more goals.
Love ya Billy.

I think he needs a rest from the first team and replaced by a stronger pacier striker, which Sammo should have signed TWO months ago.

Isn't he right footed?
I've never really noticed him showing any preference.

He did cross a ball with his right foot last night, BUT whenever it comes to needing a shot on goal, you'll notice that he always tries to jig it onto his left foot even when there's an ace chance (as last night) to score with the right. Of all his goals that I can remember I can't recall one where it was right-footed. Last night's inability to sink a simple right-foot chance was criminal.
