From that I take it your suggesting that Sammo isn't the best half-time orator/tactician?
Of course I wouldnt be as bold as to openly suggest that Marvo, I just had a spare hour to compare the two. We do indeed seem to have an inability to convert a lead into a win (just a tad!). I agree it would be interesting to carry out a similar analysis of Atkin's reign? Or should I just get a more interesting life St. Ed?

Before Marvo picks me up on my maths too - I know this wasnt a 3 goal lead... but im sure the last time we lost 3-4 at home was back in 2000 against Halifax Town.... who - if my memory serves me right -were pretty much bottom of the league themselves at the time too. (We were 'only' 3-2 up at half time then, mind you!) Maybe its an 'every 10 years' event...against teams beginning with H!!! The good news is, we did go on to get promoted that season of course... Although i think we've got more chance of playing Halifax Town again than going up any time soon!!!

I remember that match...and thought it was pretty good to see 7 goals, i didnt care that we lost, i got to see 3 cobblers goals ...mind you, i was only 8 at the time

Some time in the dim and distant past (in the Eighties but before Carr) I seem to remember a game against Wrexham (I think) when we were 3-0 up, they brought it back to 3-2 (and at some stage had a man sent off) and then gave us a penalty in injury time - which we duly missed and they went up the other end and equalised and it finished 3-3. Or did I dream it?

I predict it will be a while before a team from the 4th tier beats liverpool away by a penalty shoot out in front of the kop, before beating the bottom side 3 v 0 at home only to lose 3 v 4. But that's just a wild prediction.

The only game I can recall where we did not win after taking a 3 goal lead was vs Wrexham at the County Ground in 1984. Match finished 3-3.

I remember going to Bury around 1991-92 period when we were right at the bottom of the league (not much difference to now then!) and going 3-0 down before coming back to draw 3-3. Micky Bell scored in the last minute if I remember rightly!

Hereford debacle was no worse than the corresponding match last season when we took the lead after a few seconds and then were dire for 89 minutes. Or Hereford at the old County Ground when we couldn't beat 7 men. Certain teams - Hereford, Aldershot etc. - simply have the Houndini sign over us.

Aldershot? Played them 82 times, beat them 33, lost 27.

Aldershot! Tell me the last time we won there at that apology of a ground, and the match when they failed to finish the season doesn't count.

29th January 1972. We won 2-0. It's a long time I grant you but overall our record against Aldershot is pretty good. Perhaps you meant Jinx side OF LATE? PS: You're right about Hereford though.
