1. He's already employed - compensation due. 2. He failed in his job last year of keeping Barnet up 3. Completely unproven as a manager - Why go down that route with so much at stake? Apart from some cheap publicity which we don't really need. 4. Doesn't travel to away games that require overnight stops. Now if I'm gonna make the trip to Fleetwood I f***ing well expect the manager to do the same
1. Would be minimal with Barnet's finances. 2. See point 1 (+they are doing pretty well this season) 3. He's had 2 years experience at the arse end of football plus massive experience as a worlds class player 4. Couldn't care less about that point.

What has being a world class player got to do with being a good manager? He's done nothing to suggest he'd be worthwhile other than being a 'name'.

What's happened to this place? There are so many posters who have been contributing sensibly for a number of years that now just come over opinionated pricks with a love of hearing their own voice constructive or not... nearly always not. It's supposed to be a place for opinions not telling people how they should think and then admonishing them in a patronising manner because they disagree. It's pathetic.

I'm not arsed if they're doing 'pretty well' this season. Fact is only league job he had he failed pretty desperately. What difference does it make if he was a world class player? Sod it, let's get Pele in as manager, he was world class so that must equate to being able to get teams out of a fourth division relegation scrap Even in the nigh impossibility of him coming in, and the even more unlikely possibility of him keeping us , where do we go from there? Is he the man to stick around and rebuild us? Is he f***!

Can't we just save the cash and not get a manager in.
It's not as if anyone will keep the club in the football league.
Most players are loans and short term deals that run out at the end of the month.* *this is of course down to the freebie and loan path that the chairman had learnt his lessons from and quoted that we wouldn't go down that path in the future. Down the path, were well down it and have very nearly reached our destination unfortunately.
It is a job too far,too late for anyone to make a go of I'm afraid. We'd be better off getting rid of all the loans and short term deals, appointing a cheap option in andy king and fill out the match day team with our youth players. It would save a lot of money and help balance the books. The conference looks inevitable. Lets at least not increase the clubs debt even further when realistically there is little chance
I really struggle with you. Your English and grammar suggests a reasonable level of intellect but your arguments are the most inane on here. I guess you are just a wind up merchant because no one can be that thick. If so it's just boring now.

I have absolutely no confidence at all in Cardoza appointing the 'right' man. He doesn't really seem to be very good at running a football club does he?
I wonder if he'll be any better at running a conference centre.

Fans were happy with DC's choice of GJ and AB so why after SEVEN pages of opinions and no favourite can people criticise Mr Cardoza's ability to make the right choice! There is no obvious choice!

Just had a look on oddschecker, he's been out of work for a while but how about Steve Tilson? Couple of promotions and did well at Southend?!

For me it all points to Andy King. He knows the players and has management experience at this level so will certainly get the caretaker role. Despite the Wycombe debacle they are a decent set of players so there’s a good chance he’ll get some good results over the next 5 or 6 games. Picking another ‘name’ manager will feel like Groundhog Day and more importantly for DC it would be much cheaper to give King the full time job. He’s got to pay off AB’s year contract unless he gets another job in the meantime which is unlikely for a while. He got his fingers burned when he paid off Johnson a few days before he walked into the Yeovil job so won’t want to try that again. I’d be happy to let King have a go.

I thought rather than a lump-sum payment, sacked managers are continually paid until they find another job. Could be wrong. I agree regarding King, least in the short-term.

For me it all points to Andy King. Have to disagree there, King and Flowers have been as much a part of the problem as ADB, they're the ones who spend the time with the squad on the training ground. Not forgetting the so called fitness coach. And while Mad Dog may have quite a lot of support, he has a reputation for falling out with his Chairmen and I very much doubt that Sixifelds could ever be big enough for both him and DC. I'll add another name to the mix, Cambridge United's Richard Money.

would be a strange move by Dicky Dosh to jump ship from high flying Cambs to struggling basket cases like us

You could right about King's ability - or lack of, but the financial aspect must appeal to DC. He nearly got away with it when appointing Sammo as the lowest paid manager in the football league. It was a shame for his pockets he increased his contact shortly before giving him the bullet.

Au contraire, I actually thought he'd sweep clean and appoint Craig Hinton on a temporary basis.
