According to Jefferson, Mr Wilder missed the press conference at Oxford today - does that maybe mean what I think/fear it might mean?

Yes, he missed the press call, and when his assistant was asked he said that "he hoped" Wilder would still be in charge for tomorrows game against Torquay. Definitely something happening isn't there?

Also of note, he was actually interviewed for the Portsmouth job earlier in the season, but lost out to Ritchie Barker.

Seriously, this is the most important 48 hours in the last 20 years of NTFC history. If we reach Sunday, having lost another match and having failed to appoint a manager, then we could well be doomed. Especially if other results go against us.
Even if someone (Wilder,Grant,Rowett?) comes in, it is obvious by now that they weren't the boards first choice. Likely not second choice either!
Whoever it is needs to act quickly in bringing players in, because those we currently have aren't anywhere near good enough Embarrassed

Somebody somewhere make a bl**day decision!!

Manager by Monday LATEST!
Centre-half, THREE midfielders and an experienced striker by next Thursday.

SORT IT!!!

Maybe then the supporters can turn their attention to getting fully behind the team and the task of surviving!

It will be sorted soon I reckon. Wilder didn't attend his pre-match press conference today, and he's out of contract with Oxford in the summer. . . . even I could make the deal happen!

Can you imagine the scenario of us needing a win on the last day and they need a win for promotion or a play off place if he does join?

Oddscheckers twitter account is saying that Wilder is set to be unveiled as our new manager:

https://twitter.com/oddschecker365

They might just be trying to stir up some more business for it's bookies but its the first bite we have that it might actually be happening.

Thats three press conferences in a row he's missed now apparently.....although he did reportedly take training later on this morning.

It's such a shame that you need to spout this type of rubbish, just to gain a reaction. You no longer hold an opinion. You just want the attention.

But you're right. He shouldn't have been sacked after the Wycombe game. About six weeks earlier would have made more sense..

Perhaps just saying his goodbyes & telling them to make sure they batter Torquay tomorrow  Grin

Would be a nice positive going into our game tomorrow, if he's announce today as our new manager, with obviously just a watching brief for tomorrows game...

Are there any lights on at Sixfields ?
Expect that signing a manager , a couple of midfielders and a striker is quite involved.
We should get the good news about 10pm. Tongue

Another one who wanted the job previously and not deemed worth the risk. We could have made a sh1t manager out of him.
