I could do with a drastic reduction in heating oil costs. A long cold snap on the way with loads of snow and only about 200L in the tank. Not enough to last until spring me thinks.

Save on fuel and arrive home warm, negating the need for heating.

Save on fuel and arrive home warm, negating the need for heating. All well and good, but you can't ride it into the garage.

Reminds me of "The young ones" episode where they burnt all the furniture called "cash".

There was a report on the TV this morning with the AA saying that prices had increased by a penny this week due to the weakening pound.....the two garages on the A45 in Wootton have both raised their prices by 8p a litre for unleaded and 9p per litre for diesel since the turn of the year. Sort of slips by unnoticed doesn't it?
The pound has lost 9 cents against the dollar in that time.....
Also...a bit of politics here....but i'm pretty sure that before the last election the Tories proposed a sliding scale of fuel duty dependent on the wholesale price of petrol, ie if the prices went up and therefore the governments VAT take went up, they'd reduce the fuel duty to compensate so that it didn't mean that their take was any different. Well, almost three years on what has happened to that proposed policy??
