He is a victim of his own versatility without a doubt. He is a useful player that does a job no matter what or where and is rarely injured. He does lack composure on the ball and a range of passing but we never know the team orders to punt in up field as soon as you can or try and play a bit and retain possession etc.
Matt Heath can't get in the team despite all the injuries to more regular centre halves.
I haven't been able to get to the last two games but will be there tomorrow and hope to see a result as well as a performance.

Just to endorse his versatility, at times at Fratton he covered for both full backs, at centre back and as an occasional striker in addition to getting in the way of (disrupting) their midfield.  He also launched a couple of very threatening throws, one of which hit the bar second bounce and the other hit the post off their keeper!  Grin
I still believe that he would be better at centre back full time..

I'm an unapologetic Tozer fan.
His ability to do a job in various positions is essential in a club like ours where there is rarely decent cover.
I certainly cant understand the sniffiness about the long throws. The fact we haven't scored from them for some time should mean those in the middle should hang their heads in shame. It's an incredible weapon and currently wasted. No-one complains about crossing direct from corners, Tozer's throws are more accurate and from a better angle than any corner.
He was the best player on the pitch at Portsmouth and at the Fleetwood home game. We would not have lost 4-1 with him on the pitch for the Wycombe debacle.
He went on loan to a league one club which says it all.

Quite so , as I am too - he was also MOM against Burton. But would like to put a word in for Deegan who was possibly MOM against Pompey.

Its been a few years now, but I don't recall worry about the fact that Phillip Chard (My Lord) could play in many different positions.

Please note that I didn't mention Ben Tozer in the same sentence as Him as there is no comparison, but.........

I think its sad that Tozer was (and is?) on his way out of the club. He is a versatile player, a good club man and his long throw really is worth it's weight in gold.

I hope either Andy King or the new manager keep him and work to get the best out of him.

Surely it would be crazy to let him go anywhere at the moment with all the injuries and lack of players available, a player who can cover a variety of positions is an asset at any club and he may not be the most graceful ,but will always give 100% wherever he plays, something we need at present.
