With the forecast for tomorrow stating it will be raining heavy from 11am onwards until about 7pm, and with all the rain we have had recently. What are the chances of tomorrows game going ahead.

I hope it does because without any Christmas fixtures this year the club could do with the money from a decent Bank holiday crowd, but will the club pull out all the stops or let the game get called off. Then when the game is played in a month or so, we will have a new manager, new players and not such a long injury list !!

If it isn't I hope that the decision is made early.  The referee is from Luton so it shouldn't be too difficult to get an early decision?

I'd be all in favour of a tactical postponement. Come on, we've got no players or manager and are against the top team. Bin it off and have a pop when we've got a football team to play against them

Agree play it at the end of the season when chesterfield are already promoted and will already be on the beach.

...........what with Deegan and Tozer playing like the chosen ones's  -  with the back four playing well. New striker and conditions which might be a leveller. Plus Carter set for a recall! Fervent support .............might just work Huh?

Postponements must now be played at the nearest possible time but let's be honest, a 20 minute delay would help right now

I didn't know that.
One thing that's always irked me is that you can play any new signings that weren't available for the original date.
I think players who are signed on for rescheduled matches should be ineligable.
At least I did until this season when it will clearly benefit us Grin

Agree with Karl. Let's all go and piss on the pitch to get the game off. It's for the greater good.

The game at Newport must also have a question mark over it. They had a game postponed just before Christmas and are working on the pitch ahead of tomorrow's home game with Oxford.

When was the last time we had a game called off for a waterlogged pitch?

The only one I can remember was MK, which was abandoned 0-0 at half time, also if i remember rightly, had we drawn that game rather than losing the rearranged game we wouldn't have had to get a point against Leeds on the last day, and we wouldn't have been relegated!

Orients game postponed because a floodlight bulb was blown onto the pitch by the wind. Shocked

I remember a Cobblers game being called off at  Sixfields at the last minute against Swansea I think although it might have somebody else  Tongue. I was in the pub when the news came through.

A game against Millwall was abandoned during the second half. We were 1-0 down at the time and I've never seen a team run off the pitch so quickly in case the ref was persuaded to change his mind. Millwall were furious.
