Just got back from the game, wish I'd stayed at home. Okay, there's only two positives I can think up. One, a good away following considering the circumstances. Two, we finally have a proper finisher in McKenzie.
Right on to the bad, we were never for one minute in control of the game and didn't look like taking the lead at 1-1. Defensively we are absolutely dreadful, allowing them to break through time and again, Dunn made a couple of decent saves to keep them at bay. In the second half we didn't even test them, it was as though we were happy playing out the 2-1 loss, no closing down, no energy about the side and long-ball tactics which went absolutely nowhere. It was men against boys, they were knocking it about the park with no trouble whatsoever. Dire.

Sporry to sway it but Sammos tactics today were terrible. McKenzie up front on his own with none of the supporting players having the pace to join him.
As to the policing/stewarding it was the worst I have ever seen. There was no trouble yet they were filming us during the match. After the game we were met by a line of stewards who allowed people on the coach but made anyone else walk round the stadium where the Oxford fans were coming out. They were backed up by dozens of police some mounted and some with dogs. Funnily enough once out of the stadium complex and when the coaches were stuck in traffic and at their most vulnerable they werent interested.

2 lads were pulled over and got cautions for 'looking dodgy', the walking round the ground to get to our car thing was absolutely stupid. Thought there was a bit too much presence in terms of policing. Wouldnt call it a big game

hi oxford fan in peace, i was interested to see your fans reaction to todays game, you shouldnt be so harsh on your team, they were not the worst team weve played this season, but we have played better and lost. i think that is how this league seems, you only get what you deserve. you have however 2 very good players in mckenzie and thornton, they caused us many problems and you need to keep hold of them if you want to stay up,of which i think you will. i will say though for christ sake dont go down to the CONference, that is a fate worse than death down there,do whatever you can to stay up. good luck for the rest of the season

I'm only going on what Radio Northampton were saying- "good performance" apparently, they suggested we were much the better side in the first half and Oxford were awful, and slowed up in the second half but could have got something out of the game. The more I read comments from people who went and the more I look at the stats, the more this sounds like horses***.

Alright mate, sorry for the antagonistic tone, watching the Cobblers can do that to a man.

They reckon there is only 500 Cobblers fans there today, about a quarter of the total that went last time we played there.
Don't know who ''they'' refers to...but whoever ''they'' are..''they'' certainly got that wrong...859...some of us had a good time in many of Oxford's great ale houses...if not the game...and tried to get the atmosphere going...difficult with those present tbh!

Way too harsh..and infact the worst view I've read on the game - including the Oxford forum. Cobblers were there to almost every 1st ball..the amount of times we regained posession from them..lost count. totally bossed midfield..hardly looked right during the 2nd half - so much were we in total dominance. However, do agree with another post..toothless up front, even with Leon. Despite posession, was lethargic..and Wedderburn's lazy pass to set up their third..ffs! Sammo needs to be gone by Saturday...legend with a family or not!
