In a season where we seem to be breaking all records on the loan player front, who do people think has been our worst ever.

Chris O'Donnell the right back from Ipswich Town played just 45 minutes in the late 80's under Graham Carr, but just as bad is a recent one from this season - James Hurst signed by Andy king from Crawley Town, sent back by Chris Wilder after only about 60 minutes in the claret shirt.

Another big let down in my opinion was Izale McLeod, expected a lot after he signed, but didn't really deliver. Scott Vernon was the same, scored goals at Colchester United before he came, and now in Scotland, is still regularly on the score sheet. I think he managed one scrambled goal for us.

I am sure there are lots more just as bad as these that are not springing to mind at present. However, two in one season is not good and maybe explains where our problems have been this season.

Jamie Hand, Adam Watts and Jamie Reckord were bad loan signings. Emmanuel Oyeleke got subbed at half time on his debut vs Rotherham aswell haha

There's almost too many too mention. A lot have been completely insignificant and only by looking back does a vague memory surface. Sometimes not even that! Could be the years of alcohol abuse though. Nabil Abidallah

I think you may be getting O'Donnell confused with Gary Cobb. He came from Luton on loan played 45 mins v Swansea and was sent packing. O'Donnell managed at least 90 minutes I'm sure

Nick Wright was bloody awful, remember him coming on at Barnet (fa cup?) and constantly running the ball out of play, Chris Arthur style.

O'Donnell played in the first half against Bristol Rovers back in 87/88 season. We were 1-0 down at half time, thanks to him not making a challenge on the bloke who scored. He was sent back to Ipswich by Carr at ht and we won the game 2-1.

I remember it like yesterday. All of the pub team players we've had in recent times are world class compared with that kid!  Grin

Definitely correct on Chris O'Donnell in 1988 against Bristol Rovers. I watched the end of season video the other week and he was interviewed before the game and thought we were playing Bristol CITY. Not a great start!! He is definitely up there for me and Jamie Reckord also.

Oh, there was that bloke from Swindon Town last season - signed as a full back I believe by Aidy Boothroyd, he didn't make an appearance - was his name Smith ?? he won some competition to become a professional player I think.

Wembley winner.

Some of the older fans may remember Ray Haywood.
I seem to remember my old man making my eight year old self laugh talking about cow's esra and banjo when summing Haywood up in my uncles Austin 1100 on the way back from matches.
