I signed up and posted two messages on Sunday evening using internet explorer 8. All day yesterday I could log in ok but as soon as I clicked on one of the topics or any link on home page I was was logged out as soon as that page loaded. I have just logged in using opera and it appears ok. I dont know if it is a site error or my IE settings (I think it might be my IE as I registered as billing cobbler as well and it did the same). If you get any emails from members experiencing the same prob tell them to try using opera instead of IE

I've had very much the same problems - i've adjusted my cookie settings to 'prompt', which is ok, but i'm getting a bit fooked off with prompts for accepting facebook cookies! If anyone has any 'long term' fixes I'd be glad to hear them please ..... probably something very simple? By the way, using IE 8.

Yeah apparently there's some sort of problem sometimes with addresses that contain 2 full stops. strange as that may seem. seems to only affect a few people though it seems

Thanks for posting that... I used the URL that you said and it nows works perfectly... Funny how more full stops in a URL could cause so much problems, just as well because I dont really like using opera as a browser because I'm so used to IE

I've got the same "problem" as the three guys above, not that it is actually a problem because it only takes about 5 seconds to log in. Wink

I get that problem at work but not at home - although work uses IE where as I use Firefox at home (which I find much quicker incidentally)

I've managed (at last) to say this elsewhere, too - I've had mega-problems with this re-arranged site. Can rarely log in, then get logged out as soon as I do!
If it is necessary to use a new site title to login properly, wouldn't you have thought it'd be decent customer service to flag that fact, with the link, on the home page?

Why is it an alien Astro-turf green when we play in claret?

Let's hope things improve, throwing away customers has in the past been something the Cobblers have been good at, now we seem to have a fans' website adopting the same principle!

I'd imagine it will be changed and sorted in due course....

My guess is Karl set this site up as quickly as possible to get us back up and running again and will gradually iron out all the issues as time goes on....

Agreed about the Green....however presume it is a stop gap till something else is arranged.

I'd have thought people having trouble logging in would check the information pages, see a thread entitled "Logging in problems" and check there. Then they would see how to get past this problem, unfortuanately I over-estimated the intelligence of the average Cobblers fan. And Dustcob has it right, I do not work full time on this site. I don't get paid for it and it isn't my job. Therefore things like colour schemes will be changed when I get around to it.

Personally, I think the fact there is a logging in issue thread is sufficient enough, and i think the decision to change the site was one out of requirement and one that became more urgent taking into account the unreliability of the old board.

I much rather have a working green board as opposed to a non funtional claret one. I know the time that administrating websites and boards can take up so would say to all frustrated members to be patient.

Been through it

If it is necessary to use a new site title to login properly, wouldn't you have thought it'd be decent customer service to flag that fact, with the link, on the home page?

Would it be classed as customer service if its a free site?

Why is it an alien Astro-turf green when we play in claret?

I think Karl mentioned he hadn't had a great deal of time to sort it, maybe it will change?

Let's hope things improve, throwing away customers has in the past been something the Cobblers have been good at, now we seem to have a fans' website adopting the same principle!

I've had the same login problems everytime.  I have to re-login between posts sometimes as well which is frustrating.  It isn't a massive issue to some (myself included) but there will be some people who will be put off and won't bother.

Good site though, I'm sure everything will come together with time.
