I was fully behind Aidy when he was here, but this is a terrible decision. I want our future england seniors to play good football, not learn how to hoof it to the big man. Surely there are young coaches out there who are better suited?

Honestly, however good a bloke Aidy might be, what an odd decision. His Plan A is limited and he doesn't have a Plan B...and now an England coach?!

Totally agree. We have a blue print to play football more along the style of other top European and World nations and then appoint AB. Very, very strange decision

Good luck to him. Despite his time here ending badly he always seemed a decent bloke. Cardoza said he was the best he worked with so I'm glad he landed on his feet. Good luck for the future aidy.

Time will tell but I think you're being a bit harsh. Getting out of League 2 and managing the under 20 side are two very different jobs requiring very different approaches and he will have fewer and different constraints in his new role.
Good luck to him - have always rated him and still do.

Shows what a lack of talent there is in coaching in England. No wonder we are considered to be uncultured by world football and for good reason.

Maybe Aidy is a "poor" or "limited" manager .......... but a very good youth coach ?? He would be the 1st coach to "fail" as a manager.
Good Luck Aidy ........ this appointment might even save the club some money if we no longer have to pay him ??

Good post and for what it's worth, I agree with it.

Just heard this news on radio 5, they are claiming he brought through talented youngsters like Saido Berahino and Emyr Huws.
You've got to laugh, they could polish a turd.

I agree too - but did not support his policy on Platt and failure to recruit a replacement for Bayo. The fact is that he saved us when he came in; grateful for that at least. Also I did not agree with some of the comments made ad nauseam on here by a few. Not necessarily the specific criticism but the method used to express it.

Good luck to him. People forget the good work he did here (this season excluded). As for his latest job, calm down its England under 20s, occasionally working with young players who are coached full time elsewhere.

The fact is that he saved us when he came in;
That's not a fact, it's wild speculation. Just compare what Wilder has done in his first 6 games W3 D 1 L 2 to Boothroyd's first 6 games W1 D 2 L3. Boothroyd took us to the bottom (twice), Wilder has taken us off the bottom.

C'mon boys. I think AB helped get us out of a tricky position even if he wasn't solely responsible, and i think its a little early yet to be announcing CW as the new messiah- though clearly I hope he is.

Despite Boothroyd taking over when we were in a pretty dire position, he managed after over 100 games in charge to leave us in an even worse one.
Now that says all you need to know.
