Fortunately, their fans can't send us down, only their players can and if they can't get in the play-offs, it would have to affect them surely. And tbh, do we know for a fact that the players have a grudge against Wilder?
How many of the Oxford players are out of contract and have been told by Waddock he does not want them. Some of them may fancy a move to us - but not in the Conference.

Will they be affected like Portsmouth who were supposed to be on holiday on monday according to some on here but still fought tooth and nail to hold on to three points? Oxford will be a bloody hard game.

They're all bloody hard when the best you can hope for is 0-0!

Was thinking on what the best result for us would be tomorrow between Wycombe and Bristol Rovers. Normally with two rivals playing each other its a draw but I think with both having very winnable final day matches then a win for either side would mean that if (and a big if) we could pick up 4 points from the final two games we stay up. So a Bristol a Rovers win for me.

Think it `ll be 1-1 at Adams Park and 0-1 at the Victoria Ground. Sorry Victoria Road.

It could hardly be more complicated with just two games left. Our best hope is 3 points tomorrow and then it's in our hands whatever their result, although I'd rather see a positive result for Wycombe or Rovers.

I think the results for Exeter and Morecambe are equally as important. The more teams in it on the final day, the better it'll be.

It's good news that Oxford are in free fall and can't make the play offs but I would prefer it if Wycombe weren't playing the worst team in the league - despite what silly psychological spin people will attach to the game.

No doubt about it the worst team over the season but the team that has won 3 of their last 4 games.

If you're going to pick random statistics, they've lost the last 5 in 8 games.

Stats question - probably for Marvo. When was the last time that a team positioned 3rd bottom in our league didn't win? I bet it hasn't happened often in the last 3 months - it certainly doesn't seem like it. And I'm obviously praying the team in 3rd bottom wins next week too.

As Chrissy h has already said, torquay have the incentive of not finishing bottom by beating Wycombe on sat and they have lots of youngster playing for contracts, we need to do the business ourselves, but torquay I'm sure will be doing there upmost to beat Wycombe too.

I hate to put a downer on that but it follows that Wycombe would also have the incentive of not finishing bottom or the rather larger one of staying in the league. The truth is once a match gets under way the relative nuances of league positions get forgotten and it's more about which team has more footballing ability and at this stage of the season confidence in their ability. Fortunately we are the club in form and that confidence will see us through rather than any off-field shenanigans.

On current form (last six matches) Oxford are the worst team in the league. Over the last ten matches the bottom club is Wycombe. Oxford are second bottom.
It doesn't mean that much. Anything can still easily happen, but it is another edge in our favour and every little bit adds up.

I would imagine wilder would be well aware od oxfords strengths and weeknesses having moulded the squad there over the last 5 years. No doubt he will use it to our advantage. I think we will be fine and will beat them. Just wish i didnt have to wait 7 days to be certain.

OK they have won their last two scoring 5 goals in the process is that a random stat or a fact, would a team winning their last two games point to them being on something of a losing streak? Wycombe haven't won in four conceding six and scoring two is that a random stat or a fact, does that look like a team on a winning run?

I don't know if true based on stats but I have a theory that when a team is relegated they quite often win their next game, all the cliches come out about the pressure was off etc, hopefully will be the case for Torquay next weekend.
