This may be locked or you may decide that this is pointless. I just want to know what peoples honest thoughts are. In my opinion I think we are all but gone, I'm not one usually one to be negative but I have been to every game this season and I saw a team on Saturday that had been crushed and demoralised. Looking at the table I can only see Wycombe and Portsmouth being cached but I think if we are to have any hope its Wycombe we have to go for. Some may argue this but we have 6 games left and our goal difference means it will be 2 games before we can get out of the drop zone so I can only see these two catchable. So if you are still reading do you think the result on Saturday will give us a 100% indication to weather we are down or not. If you disagree or think this is pointless I'm sorry I just wanted to see peoples overall perspective on the whole thing.
Thanks from an emotional cobbler

I think that the result this Saturday could decide our fate......lose at Accrington and see Portsmouth and Wycombe both win their "easier" home fixtures and i'd then have to accept our fall into the Conference.

What Grange Said. We need to better Wycombe's results and win the head to head 6 pointer.
Not an impossible task for a side who really want it.
Have we the players with a strong will to win and can they stomach the fight? We will soon find out. The knock out tournament starts Saturday.

Spot on I think. A loss for us coupled with those two winning and the game is up.

Judging by last Saturday's inept performance, er, no and no.

Realistically we cannot afford to lose any more ground on any remaining matchday if we are to have the slightest hope of surviving. There is no margin of error left - even a point on Saturday will not be enough if Wycombe win.

Razor is right but mathematically we won't be down- if that helps

Wycombe's run-in makes our position all the more ominous - the only 'tough' game they have is Fleetwood away and I can easily see them winning the next 2 games, also the final 2 games (Bristol will be safe, Torquay will be down).
Dagenham (H) Newport (A) Northampton (H) Fleetwood (A) Bristol Rovers (H) Torquay (A)

Our fate was decided long before next Saturday, probably against the Wombles if not before.

Wycombe have picked up two points from the last six games. If we were a Wycombe supporters I think we would be nervously looking over our shoulders and might be thinking lose to Northampton and we're gonna go down. They will be as nervous as us on Saturday.

I see you have used the last 6 games to back up your argument!! What about the last 5? 3 points for us and two for them! How about the last 10? Twelve points for them and 14 for us.... The fact is that it is them who are in front and can look over their shoulders, all we see over ours is a doomed Torquay side! Both us and Wycombe are having a poor run...the league table doesn't lie...and they have as good as a four point cushion with six games to play. They also have to play us at their place. If we do end up above them come the seasons end then they'll only have themselves to blame.

That's not a lot different from what I said in terms of stats is it? So we have also picked up more points than them over the last run of 10 and 5 games. If you're sitting in 22nd place in league two, you're not thinking about ending the season in 20th you're more concerned about dropping another place. Knowing that they still have to play us then that must add to the nerves going into the last six. That's my perception anyway.

My point was that we have not been that much better than them over those periods of games, and we need to be "more better" than that to overhaul them. My perception is that you just have to make sure you get enough points to avoid the 23rd placed team catching you! Also they must know that a draw at home to us will be a good result for them, whereas it won't be good enough for us (probably!). Whichever way you look at it you'd surely rather be in their position than ours!

Of course I would, they've also already beaten us at our place 4-1 and seen off Boothroyd let's not forget. But, I still can't help think that there will be lots of Wycombe fans and associates of the club very nervous going into theast six games. We are in the bottom two, it's in their hands to fook it up. That would make me nervous as Hell.
