Now i'll probably get a few comments about this but I hope we lose on Saturday. If we do lose then DC will hopefully have no option but to show the door to Sampson. A win or a draw will just paper over the cracks for a few games before the inevitable happens. Things are not right in the dressing room and we need a new broom.
As much as Sampson is a nice guy and cobblers legend, he is just not upto the task in front of him and we need action now. So for the good of the long term i hope we continue our poor form for the short term so we can get a new man in before Christmas so he has the Transfer Window to do some wheeling and dealing.
It was the same with Grey, everybody knew his time was up but DC dragged his feet too long.
Now let's all stop being polite and tell DC what we think - SAMMO OUT chants on Saturday? (im sure if it wasnt Sammo in charge then we would have had these by now)

Even more so in this instance, Sammo is a legend and we should be hoping he turns it around, not hoping it gets worse so he leaves! Doesn't change my view that he probably should get the sack mind as i don't think he will turn it around

Agreed We have Hinton back, John Johnson back, and Leon will be playing (hopefully). We had a brilliant cup run, now it's over, let's get behind the team and save the season.

What is your major malfunction? I have never wanted to see my club lose and wouldn't pay £20 to help destroy my teams morale by booing and demanding the manager is sacked. It's fans like you that bring our club down! Unless it was John Barnwell........

I know the Sammo debate has been done to death on another thread but I still want him to succeed and whoever is in charge wanting a loss is awful.
Last night was an example of how much we are down to the bare bones and any manager coming in wont be able to change much.
I am crossing my fingers that now we have got the Carling Cup out of our system we can go on and get several wins on the trot and be just behind the play offs in no time.
Gillingham is a very pivotal game it seems

I'm sticking with Sampson. It's nothing to do with sentinent, and anyone who says that they WANT us to lose on Saturday because it would further weaken Sampson's position is a lunatic.

Massive game Hask, absolutely massive imo. Could be a real turning point in the season or could confirm a relegation battle.

The Carling cup was a distraction - dont get me wrong it was enjoyable - the players minds may well have been on Liverpool and Ipswich games. Now the cup run is over lets get behind the team and start getting the league wins we desperately need. I can't believe fans are actually hoping we lose, he will be saying I hope we're relegated next do he can blame DC for his wage budget cut and lack of investment!

If you ever - under any circumstances - want your side to lose then you are not a true fan. I'm sorry, but I think the whole idea is ridiculous and insulting, towards the club, the manager, players and, most of all, the fans who look forward (often in vain) to a little ray of sunshine on a Saturday afternoon.

Whoaaahhhhh you lot, you're not thinking this through.
Just to play devils advocate. It's the final game of the season, we're 14th, if we win we go 13th, if we lose we go 15th. The team we're playing is bottom but one, 2 points behind Peterborough who are on a desperate run of form AND face the Champions of the division away from home. Now you really telling me you wouldn't be prepared to lose that one?
I don't want us to lose Saturday but I think we will. If we don't then I'm afraid it will only delay the inevitable and unfortunatly that could prove very costly, the sooner you begin the treatment, the better the chances of a complete recovery. Sammo isn't the man for the job and most of ou are being carried away on sentiment. If you don't believe me, ask yourself this. If we had any manager at the club other than an ex-Cobblers legend, would you seriously still be backing him.
Note: Anybody answers yes to that last question is a liar!

Well i thought i might get this reaction.
Obviously I want us win every game I wanted is to win the 7 games we've lost this season and be fighting for promotion, but in reality we have sunk so to the lowest point since the move to Sixfields. If your happy with that then your more ludicrous than me wanting us too lose one game.
Sampson is a cobblers playing legend, not a world class manager and because of his legendary status he rightly does have the respect of the fans. But I can guarantee that if we had anybody else in charge at this moment then there would certainly be a lot more unrest within the fan base and chants for his head on a stick.
This is why i didn't want Sampson to become our manager, If he succeeded great, If he failed then we end up in this situation. Fans being too polite to shout for his head.
He's not the man for the Job, he's not going to turn this around. Now he could do the right thing and resign before it's too late but he's said that's not going to happen. We need a change and fast before it's too late and for me the only way for that to happen is to lose 1 more game, then maybe we can start to win more than we lose.

What a stupid thing to say.
Any real cobbers fan is hoping that we win the next game, and the game after that, and go on a run and then you'd all be singing sammos praises again wouldn't you.

You know he's right. If we were to win all of our remaining games this season (and Gilligan was to end up top scorer, not only just here but of the whole division) then I reckon we would all be singing Sammo's praises. Of course if we were to keep Sammo on, keep on losing and evntually lose our league status because we left it too late to make a difference then I guess on reflection that may not be the case. Anybody got a time machine so they can fast forward to May, see what happened?

I don't really see the logic of prolonging it until after the Gills game. Sammo shouldn't be judged on that one game it should be judged over the whole season so far. Regardless of the result we'll still be in a s***e position come saturday.
