If you spent 30 quid on a meal Mark - after being warned that the restaurant was s*** from most people beforehand - and the first few mouthfulls were s***. Would you eat the rest of your food in the vein hope that it eventually tasted better? !!

It's all very admirable to be patient and hope that Sammo can turn the side round however i have seen no evidence this season to suggest that this could be the case.
On the contrary all I have seen is a increasing catalogue of poor tactical decisions, bizarre substitutions and shocking man management.
Anyway, i can't see Cardoza sacking him for a while yet, the 3 year contract has tied his hands somewhat and as for these rumours about Edingburgh, well i would imagine that DC hasn't even heard of him such is his knowledge of the sport (demonstrated last year with his comments about Cooper).

Chopping and changing managers every year is going to do nothing except continually push us further and further down.
Ah, but it's perfectly acceptable that Sammo the Tinkerman chops and changes the team every week? Sammo (as did Gray) has got off very lightly compared to just about every other club I know of. We tedn not to shout Gray Out or Sammo Out, but simply leave with 20 minutes to go at 3-1 or 3-0 down (Barnet, Hereford and Aldershot). In some ways this form of silent protest is most telling, but tends to get undermined by the idiotic applause at the end of the 3-0 defeat at Elland Road and other dreadful performances. That and fans having things to do on a Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile where are the much promised fresh faces?

Can I also just add one thing...... This board has not been read by the main players at the club for some time..........
Nige, you're supposedly one of the more respected members of this fraternity so don't talk so daft. Human nature dictates that the players will have read this board or have been made aware of it contents. Most things on here end up in the local rag or on radio Northampton so there's no ignoring it.

Exactly. If DC is going to back Sammo, I would rather see hard cash than words.
Everyone on here is saying lets appoint ..... well he'll come into a rock bottom league two side with no cash and having to start from scratch mid season. Save the money that sacking Sammo would need and get stuck into the transfer market.
David's duty is not to sack a manager when he isn't doing well, its to give the manager some backing if he wants him to stay.

Well from what I can see Cardoza HAS given Sammo plenty of backing. We signed McKenzie, we've had at least four loanees all from clubs Championship level or higher and when Sammo said he couldn't attract players he's been after I never heard him say it was because the Chairman put a stop to it. In fact Sammo said recently that he could have brought some young centre-backs to the club but was holding back for more experienced players, well that's HIS choice!

Ok fair enough, a free and several kids. There must be some reason he didn't sign these young lads, If he signed them and they turned into utter rubbish and pointless signings, ala Josh Parker, then we'd slate him more. I can't blame him for holding out for a 'better' more 'experienced' player.
What Im saying is putting money on fees. There are plenty of decent players we could maybe grab for a small fee. But will we? No. Were a feeder and a reject club. Sign free, sell high. If we really wanted Zola, I'm sure we could have got him. If we really had some ambition we might go places.

I mean, I've been to said restaurant hundreds of times and am well aware that the fare can be at best brilliant, but at worst appalling. It appears the current chef is learning the role, but shouldn't we give him a chance to improve and maybe one day get his michelin star rather than dump him in the bin due to half a dozen bad plates of food. (Am I in the ballpark here?)

Is anyone else fed up of the people on here wanting to keep sampson because he's a 'club legend'?
The guy is clearly not a manager, legend or not. His man management is terrible, his tactical decisions are shocking and his contacts are none existent!
He is slowly sliding us down the football league, get him out now before its too late.
I don't personally want him booed or to leave with the chants 'sampson out' ringing through his ears because of what he did for the club as a player! Cardoza use your head and get him out before his legendary status gets distroyed.

Yes, but most of our fans know nothing about football and can't see the problems we face. We clearly have some good footballers on out books (and some not so good) but the problem is about the way there managed, trained and motivated. Let's not forget Sammo was No2 to Grey and like it or not he's picked up some bad habits from him. that's why you should always go for a "New Broom" when you sack a poor performing manager. Perhaps DC is waiting until after the Legends Night!!

It was always going to go wrong when Sammo started singling out different players each week for criticism via the papers.
