After all he can't be much worse than the headless chicken. Those two goals at Torquay must have been flukes.

Sinclair was playing on his heels today, not ready and in positions to anticipate, especially any clearances from the back which allowed their backs to reclaim the ball and put us back under pressure.

It is a big risk but I just don't see what Sinclair adds to the team at the moment? Are we committed to signing him at the end of the season, I sincerely hope not

Put simply, Sinclair is exactly the sort of player you do not want in a relegation scrap.
Has anybody else noticed his 'token jumps' when the ball is in the air? Without fail he'll completely misjudge the flight of the ball and fail to make any contact. I'm starting to think it's deliberate.
Marquis on the other hand is excellent and it's a pity we didn't have him from day one. His style of play is particularly impressive given his age.

Exactly, but my old friend Neverbrite backing him to the hilt and it may well end up costing us our league status because we don't score enough goals.

Does anyone know for sure if we HAVE to sign him in the summer?
I imagine he'll cost us a fee and his wages certainly won't be cheap, a non goal scoring striker we can't afford which ever league we end up in.

They say the deal is done no matter what BUT I wouldn't be surprised to see it 'hit a snag' if we get relegated.

Doesn't matter who plays up top, our club is and pretty much always has been, a strikers graveyard.

Apart from strikers with crippling injury problems, we're great as a rehab centre. But yeah, they're either broken or rubbish. 15 League games since we've had a striker score a goal, depending on whether you count the Burton as one for Marquis or not.
Leaving the striker loans out, which are 80% useless other than Berahino and Norris, we've had over the last 5 years Emile Sinclair, Alan Connell, John Marquis, JJ Hooper, Steve Guinan, Billy McKay, Gary Mulligan, Courtney Herbert, Seb Harris, Steven O'Flynn, Shaun Harrad, Tadhg Purcell, Jake Robinson, Lewis Wilson, Clive Platt, Roy O'Donovan, Leon McKenzie, Adebayo Akinfenwa and Alex Nicholls
Only Bayo and McKenzie hit double figures in any of the years.

In the strikers defence we give them such a small amount of quality delivery anyone would look bad. Having said that I agree that maybe Moyo or Toney deserve a shot as Sinclair is offering nothing at the moment in the way Deepcut described above.

Don't think they're the answer, both looked like they were completely out of their depth when they came on. None of the strikers we have at the moment can hit the back of the net, but both the kids seem to be unable to do the basics right like chase down the ball. Either just not good enough for the football league or need a few patient pre-season games to get going proper, and it's not the time for that.

No.
Play Langers upfront.
If Diamond hadn't been injured, I was expecting that to happen. By the way, what is the latest on his injury although CW hopes he will be fit for Monday?

Not for me, very good at set pieces but unless there is a lot of quality crosses coming over he offers very little, don't see him complementing marquis either. Personally would like to see Hackett back in the team.

Not only do we not score goals we don't create many chances either.
Recently we've relied on own goals, penalties and howlers by opposition goalkeepers.
Neither do we play to the limited strengths we have. Lumping the ball up to Sinclair and expecting him to win headers is a waste of time. He has some pace, so put the ball in front of him to run on to.

Problem is with Sinclair, we did put the ball into him on at least a couple of occasions yesterday and he still did nothing with it, Crawley fans can't understand why we took him either so don't think its anything to do with us. As for the long list of Strikers who have 'failed' not sure we paid money for any of them, they were all pretty much other teams cast offs for a reason.
