His career stats suggest that other than when he was at Macclesfield he hasn't been a consistantly regular 1st teamer and except when he was with Peterborough never prolific (and weren't they scoring bucket loads in that era ?).

http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=47061

The evidence for him being anything other than a journey man seems overwhelming.

Sorry.

I wish we'd persevered with Moult. Thank God for Toney !

Thank god for diversity of opinions and how people see things differently - no he has not had the best service - if by that you mean the ball gently placed on the ground just in front of his best foot and the last defender afraid to challenge him - ffs we are bottom or thereabouts of the lowest professional league and I want grafters in the team - Sinclair plays like a player who doesnt care and i dont want him in my team.

"Emile can play wide on either side". CW acknowledging that he isn't a target man and by implication that he will not be using him as such next season...  Wink

I think it's fair to say that his best work in the previous season wasn't when the ball was anywhere near his head. I'm prepared to give him a go - the comparisons with Constantine are a bit unfair - he's more like Demontagnac in my opinion. Which might not fill too many people with hope...

A further case for the defence..

Despite him looking disinterested and a bit unfit at times, he found himself on average with a clear goal scoring opportunity at least 2or 3 times in every game I watched him.
Admittedly the final shot, header or lay off failed, but it shows he can get into the right positions.

I believe with a good preseason and re found confidence, we could have a 15/20 goal striker on our hands.
Those 2 goal I watched him score against Torquay (on youtube) were 1st class.

So one minute the consensus after Pompey is that he's awful and Toney was streets better and the next he just needs more time and a bit of confidence ( oh and a nice juicy two year contract ) to bring out the best in him.
Personally I dont think he's shown enough and if he had just been a straight loan we would'nt even be contemplating signing him.

Whatever you might think of him, he played a part in keeping us in the football league. when he came in i believe he wasn't anywhere near fully fit, possible due to not playing much but with a full pre season under his belt i do believe we will have a much better E.S on are hands.

Let's give the lad a chance. Give him a good pre season and who knows what might happen. He and a few others might surprise a few people. The slate should be wiped clean i believe

I find our fans aren't bad to be fair. I mean everyone gave Carter a second chance once he started playing well, where as players such as Platt never really looked interested.

I'm reserving judgement on Sinclair until after a pre season. For me, he never looked fit and could be a completely different player once Wilder brings in the players to play his way.

Wilder and Knill seem to know exactly where they want this team to go, If Sinclair is in their plans then I'm happy with that. They wouldn't have offered him 2 and 1/2 yrs at the club if they didn't think they would be able to make him work.

When Sinclair looked up for it, he looked a good player. Whether the occasions where he didn't look up for it were down to a lack of fitness or a lack of effort I'm not too sure, but either way I agree the slate should be wiped clean, and he looks like he could be one of those players who is far better when they're not in a relegation battle scrapping for points and thery have a bit more freedom to express themselves.

I think Sinclair's pace could cause a few problems next season. The main problem last season was that we were playing long balls in the air which is clearly not his strength. If next season we play the ball down the channels/through ball for him to use his pace I think we will see a much better player.

Yep, agree with that.

He could play the Carl Heggs role to good effect I reckon.

Without Sinclairs goals away at Torquay you lot would be planning your journeys to Braintree and Kiddy.

Him next season with confidence a pre season and a nice break in Marbella will be a new forward and will fire us to League 1 with Toney.

Lets be honest he has tattoos he has to be world class.

Plus you don't score 12 goals in the Championship for Posh if you're a bad striker mainly down to them being awful!

Lol...I thought the same!

Just awaiting a Hallam Hope fan to join up and sing his praises...because without Hopes goal at Newport we might have been planning our trips to the likes of Braintree and Kiddy.....

Does he have a left foot?

He checked back on to his right at Accrington when it would have been easier to smash it with his left!

If he's better than he was, then fine. If he's not, then he'd be a ridiculous signing. Wilder obviously can see something in him that I can't.

His behaviour at Dagenham and at the Oxford game was impeccable.. Certainly worth a go.

whose Emile or CW? Cool

Made available for loan/transfer according to JL.

Got a feeling we're not going to recover much of our supposed 6-figure transfer fee for him....
