If we're bringing in 7 new players I want to see 7 new first teamers so trying to pick a side at the moment is just plain silly.
Well it is the silly season and there's no football so a bit of speculation is just good fun ! Light relief after many dark days.

If you read my post again I listed players who can contend for starting places. Just trying to deduce what first team signings we need to make.
I wasn't actually addressing you in particular, just this board in general.

Wilder has said what he is after? Right Back Left Back - possibly Horwood Midfielder Left winger Right winger Striker Striker So our centre halves and goalkeeper are sorted.

Would be more than happy to see Robertson added to the full time squad. Although he didn't get many name checks on here I thought he was very solid and dependable, won most of his headers and it was noticeable how many goals we stopped conceding down the left once he settled in, could dig in a decent cross from time to time, reminded me of Irvin Gernon.

spot on Marvo. 7 first teamers is the least i would expect.

Craig Westcarr has been released by Walsall.
17 goals in League 1 last season, he's going to be in demand.

Robertson is a solid squad player who does a solid job in a number of positions. He'd be a handy player to have in the squad.

Not an endless stream of loan players please, in the last few seasons the club has had too many loanees. Lets build a team that has a nice mixture of older pro's and up and coming youngsters. Going that direction I would be happy to finish midtable next season. Then continue to build season on season. Too many loans = no long term future.

What about jack midson, released by Wimbledon today, almost 40 goal in just over 100 games for them, always a one in three man wherever he has been prior to that?

I often use thefootballforum where lots of fans from league two discuss.
Wimbeldon fans say in league 2 he's horrific. His goal scoring record is good but there happy he has gone. Which I think says a lot.

I thought the loan market next season is a very different game altogether now?

Do you know what "Nemesis" means?
A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent personified in this case by a sex starved voyeur that is Tyro.

Lee Gregory at Halifax has been mooted for a potential transfer to League 2. Scored 32 goals in 40 games last season. Surely worth a look and with CW Halifax connection we can get a deal done

With 200k transfer fees being mentioned, I find that highly unlikely.

I'd have Westcarr, his record is roughly 1 in 5 in both leagues but always puts in a shift. Wouldn't blow the budget on him, but he'd do a similar job to Marquis in terms of putting himself about.

Surprised no-ones really mentoined him yet, but Luke Norris has just been given a longer deal by Brentford.

Id bring Bayo back on a tasty 1 year contract...chuck Millwall 100-200k to get Marquis (or pay a loan fee for 12months if they won't sell) and hey presto...the forward line is sorted. Bayo, Marquis, Sinclair, Toney and Moyo...the latter two, nice and cheap. Nicholson may or may not make it, if he does then thats 4 senior strikers to start off with. Which you need.
Id get a left winger in, assuming that Hackett signs...then just the one, but a good one..central midfielder. Theres your midfield.
I would have kept McSweeney but now we need a right back. hope the rest of them sign (including Horwood)...and thats your defence.
Duke...not sure. IF Snedker is close, Id stick with what we've got. If Snedkers not going to be able to challenge the number1, I would bring in another goalkeeper.
EVOLUTION NOT REVOLUTION.
I would much rather we bring in 4 bloody decent lads, than 7 or 8 average ones. EVERY SEASON since I don't know when, you look at the squad at the end of it...and theres at least half a dozen who have made no contribution. 20-22 players all able to play in the first team, injuries covered by loans. Job done.
