All we really need to do is get hold of Boothroyds " List " of wunderstrikers who are better than Bayo and get one of them in...........problem solved  Tongue

You're thinking we should re-sign Clive "most underrated striker in the world" Platt aren't you?

From when Wilder left Oxford were the worst team in League 2. Do we really want to fill our team with their former players?

Duke has been quite up and down this year. Maybe he could assist with thr coaching? I'd like to see the Cheltenham keeper come in, Scott brown is it? Hes out of contract. If not the lee Nicholls was not getting in the squad at the end of the season.

If the money stretches to it.....Paul Jones, and while they're at it, Billy Clarke, both now ex-John Gregory's Crawley.

I've always thought that Jones was somewhat overrated - With a experienced stopper already contracted, I wonder if Snedker might get a chance.

Would like to see some of our younger players get more of a shot!

Toney has done fantastically well when he got his chance. Much the same as Moyo at the end of last season. Moyo hasn't had a run of games to get a feel for the level, and think him and Toney could make quite a potent partnership at this level with a bit of time and patience.

Snedker is an England youth team keeper, played brilliantly in the cup last season and whilst he may have had some handling issues, looks like someone we should be giving more of a chance, especially given Duke can't go on forever.

Hornby is obviously very capable for a youngster and when back to full fitness (any news on that?) would be pushing for a first team place and we don't want to bring in an abundance of squad players that might hinder that.

Claudio Dias is another who we have not seen much of and keep sending out for loan spells where he appears to be getting on quite well, but we need to give him a run of games at this level to see if he can cut it!

Connor Roberts did very well in his pre-season appearances, but then didn't get a chance to prove himself in the league, which I thought was a shame as I thought he was on the cusp of breaking through and thought his performances merited at least a shot!

There are probably others I have missed, but we need to give these youngsters at least a chance to prove themselves at this level!

Other than that, we do have some squad places to fill, but I wouldn't be rushing out to waste money on another big name flop which will again hinder the opportunities available for development of our own youth players!

We haven't the time to bring youth players through, they need to wait their chance and then take it with both hands like Toney has. If they're good enough, they'll make their mark soon enough.

With pre-season training beginning on June 23rd (CW's interview with BBC Radio Northampton post the Oxford match) we need to get on with it.

Some other points;

1) At least this season we have more time to piece things together and certainly more time than Fleetwood, Southend, Burton, York and Cambridge/Gateshead.

2) I reckon this is when managers really earn their corn. I'd want my manager delaying his holiday until he's sorted out his squad.

I heard Wilder doesn't mess around in the summer and likes to get things sorted as soon as possible.

Didn't I read that the retained/released lists will be out this week? That suggests that he has a fair idea of where he needs to strengthen, and if he's quickly off the blocks he should be able to take his pick of those who, in League 2 terms at least, are genuinely available.

Mr Lake has suggested that it will be tomorrow we hear more about the released list.

Cardoza says on player 6 or 7 new signings, squad of 22/23, retained list out tomorrow. Also says Toney is already on a long contract.

I could not agree more. Despite some poor signings last summer a few targets must have been snapped up before the play offs were over.

I can't share your view about Snedker. Whilst he obviously has bags of talent, I just worry that he isn't physically big enough (yet), for League 2.
Also, watching him in pre game warm up, he is often beaten by the shots on goal, you would expect a pro keeper to stop.

That has to be the biggest bulls*it post I've ever read in my life!! I would be more than happy for you to take constable off our hands but I can guarantee he will never sign for wilder unless you are offering silly money. In fact I can guarantee that wilder wouldn't go near him as he never rated him and tried to sell him on a couple of occasions only for constable to turn down Bournemouth and sc*mdon! I can see the likes of raynes, wright, potter and hall ending up at you place, good luck to them and to yourselves next season, I believe you will do well
Hahaha, he still will be wearing a yellow shirt. I would never want him putting a claret shirt on.

Yan Klukowski is a box to box midfield player who has scored 45 goals in last 3 seasons playing 105 games (+37 as sub) at Forest Green. He also provides numerous assists (10 in 2012/3) Has turned down a new contract as he wants to play in the Football League. Still only 27. Gained international honours as an England schoolboy. Worth a chance?

Talking of Turley's, Billy, appeared to be part of the coaching staff on our bench Saturday.
