I just tweeted him to say welcome to Sixfields and he said thanks looking forward to it, so assume it's all sorted.

Vis-a-vis of nothing but I notice John Marquis (out of contract at the end of this season) still hasn't been named in a matchday squad for Millwall this season.
At his age (22) you could be forgiven for thinking his future possibly isn't going to lie at Millwall a great deal longer.

Clearly we need a midfielder to replace the very unlucky Ian Morris. That's a given.
Although it's early doors, the right back position is clearly our weak link, 4 of the 5 goals conceded being a direct result of that. Is 4 games too early to write a player off? Given that he is here on loan and therefore not ours at the end of it. Even at this stage he doesn't look up to it...
I would like to see how we get on in the next week or so before making a decision on *Marquis. We all know what he would add, but saying that he would only come here to play and is he better than Richards and Toney? One of whom he would be keeping out of the team. And that's the problem we've got with him,so it's not an easy decision for Wilder to make.
The cars only just been rolled out of the garage and like with any proto type we must accept that there will be teething problems with it. I'm looking forward to Saturday, hopefully it will be fixed by then and ready for the long journey ahead...

If we can get 4 points from the next 2 games (both at home) giving us 8 points from 5 league games in August I'll be pretty content with that.

When Collins was ruled out last season we brought in diamond. Hopefully a similar level replacement for Morris will come in.

JL article suggests a midfielder currently out of contract is likely to be first through the door.
Nathan Doyle?

Probably played alongside Ravenhill a few times , plays right back as well , could fit the bill.

............we need a goal scorer or two pretty evident on last nights showing.

Do we? Are you saying that neither Richards or Toney are good enough to bang in the goals for us? Or just that we need an alternative given that those on the bench are neither ready/on form?

David prutton would be a decent experienced midfielder. I'm surprised he hasn't got a club.

Both at the moment - Neither of the above two looked like scoring last night; 1 goal between them out of a 4 games is hardly convincing. Both their performances last night did not even justify their selection.

You lot do remember last year when we had a revolving door policy at the club and we ended up playing 39 different players? Remind me, how did that turn out?
Drilling is right, we do have the players at the club who can score goals. Richards has 138 in his career, Mohammed 47, Sinclair 42, Langmead 39, Nichols 36, O'Toole 34, Carter 29 and even centre back Diamond has 28 to his name. We also have a young man in Toney starting out his career who has already scored 4 times in his last 6 games. What we need to do is to find a system in which to bring the best out of them.
Wilder needs to stick to his guns, these are his players, his choices, I'm certain given enough time and patience this season will turn out to be a success. Of course when you get injuries in a specific area such as we have in midfield with Carter (hopefully short term) Hornby and Morris (both long term) then we will need to bring in a fresh face and thankfully we are fortunate to have a chairman that will put his hand in his pocket to fund a new player and help his manager, so few clubs in our division are in that position and that should never be forgotten. However to continually call for new players when we happen to suffer the odd defeat is ridiculous and counter productive. We need to get behind the players we have and try out different permutations and styles until we find the right way in which to get the best out of what we have, which I think we all agreed pre season was a pretty good squad. Wilders record in the 24 games he's been here is won 10, drawn 8 and lost just 6. That's play-off form and we should all remember just where we were and what was the starting point when he took over.

That's all very well but at the start of the season and by general consensus we required another goal scorer. In four games this season we have had very few shots on goal and even fewer from open play. Add to this we have only scored 2 in the league so far this season and it does not look particularly promising either. We need somebody like Marquis to ginger things up. Even Bayo might have been a worthwhile option. Unless our goal scoring credentials are improved we will have a disappointing season yet again.

You'd be right everbrite if we were creating a hat-full of chances and missing them. We're not and that is where the problem lies.
