Please don't tell me you didn't realise he was taking the piss? I didn't know he was taking the piss, judging by his posts I thought 8 was about right. By the same principle, I guess you're a bit younger aren't you?

Back to team selections - I think Saturday could be the start of the revival with a solid back four of Johnson, Hinton, Beckwith, Hall. This then gives us Davis pushing forward down the left, Jacobs or Thornton out right and 2 of Osman, Wedderburn, Gilligan in the middle with McKay and McKenzie up top. Sounds half decent on the face of it.
I really, really want us to win. I love Sammo and think he can turn it around.

No Hinton, as his knee is suffering after the Ipswich match. Maybe Johnson and Beckwith at centre half. Sammo has said that the Holt centre-back experiment is over.

Could he finally be realising his mistakes? lets hope so

I'm new to site. I like reading team selections so ignore Marvo & continue! Chron never once got it right in 14 years but it puts the opposition off (sometimes) as they read Chron and probably this too! Fun too.

Tell you what then, write the names of the players on pieces of paper, fold them, give them a shuffle and then pick out eleven and form a team. After you've done that, do it all over again, and again, and again. Hours and hours of pointless but endless fun.

I'm afraid I agree entirely with his royal highness Marvo. Pointless, especially considering the amount of people who moan about Sammo playing players out of position, then naming a team full of players out of position!

you complete misery. it's only a bit of fun and some people like to play manager and your no exception. I've lost count of how many times you've questioned sammo's ability so there's no different to people sharing their ideas of team selection and you sharing your ideas on where our current manager has gone wrong. SO either join in the fun or turn your attention to other posts.

No thanks, I prefer to take the piss out of you know-nothings and threads like these make my job easy! Anyway FFS, we've only got about 13 players for consideration so it's all about swapping seats on the titanic.

Im surprised that there are not more calls for us switching to a 3-5-2 formation. JJ and Davis would really thrive as wing backs, and our most talented player - Thornton - could tuck into the hole behind the 2 strikers with Osman and Wedderburn employed as the two destroyers behind him. Crackers could be our impact player from the bench...
Unfortunately though, there would be no place for Gilligan in this team. Which is why I cant see Sammo trying it out!

I like the idea of wing backs, trouble is we're struggling to get 2 centre backs out there at the mo, let alone 3. I believe that Rodgers and Davis can make forward runs in a 4-4-2 when you have players to protect the positions theyv'e left, i.e Gilligan and Holt

I would say though that 15 goals conceded in our last 6 matches shows that the current back 4 (whoever they are) is not the way forward at this moment in time. Beckwith, Holt and Hall would be ok in the middle. Add Hinton to the equation when he's fit again. Also you could play JJ there as well and drop Rodgers into right wing back, a position I think he would thrive in also. I tell ya' Norfolk, our squad is made for that formation. Im convinced it would work and have been for several weeks!

It certainly worked under Atkins with the pacy Clarkson and Frain as wing backs (Haha) and Rennie doing a lot of pointing whilst Sammo and Warburton did all the defending. Certainly Johnson, Rodgers and Davis' style of play are ideally suited to wing back and Hinton could be the pointer!
