If we can bring him in, on wages that reflect his standing within the squad (i.e. a bench player who can come on in the last 20 mins and cause havoc in the opposition box) then I don't see why he shouldn't get another crack at it with us.

If he wants to come in, earn top dollar (again), and then go in a huff because he's not getting enough game time, then it would be a definite no go for me.

I'd have him back in a shot. He's a real handful and unplayable at L2 level IF you play him in the proper role (i.e. with the ball played into his chest or feet, not aimlessly lumped towards him for him to head or chase after).
On top of that he's probably my favorite ever player to pull on a Cobblers shirt (even if that shirt is bursting at the seams!) and I loved watching him play for us.

OR another way of looking at it:

In 5 seasons with Bayo in the team we have achieved 0 promotions and 1 relegation.

Season with Bayo = Playoff final. Season without Bayo = 8 months in relegation zone.

Yes clearly his goals are to blame for a relegation and no promotions.

If Bayo does come back, why dont the club come to an agreement with him to stock his beastmode merchandise in the club shop in return for a percentage of sales? Kids will want to buy his tops etc. There is also potential for away fans who have kids that might want to buy beastmode merchandise. Bayo will sell more and the club will make a few extra £'s its a win, win situation

For me its a yes.
I think in the past having bayo in the team made us very one dimensional and everything revolved around him.
In fairness though it was like a one man show as he had to do all the donkey work and had no reliable strike partner.
His goal scoring record for the cobblers given the above scenario is terrific and in my opinion this team that is taking shape will be by far the best he has played in at northampton.
With RICO up front he would have a top class striking partner as well as sinclair(who I think would look a different player alongside him) and young toney,it would be the basis of a promotion winning forward line.
Also in the past when trying to carry the team on his own he has at times looked fed up but had the security of getting plenty of matches(bar wembley enough said), this wouldn't be the case now as a dip in form would see our other options getting a run out.
I'm sure there are many wrongs and rights in this debate but in a nutshell as a lone striker no but as part of a strikeforce yes.
Fact is he is a cobblers legend and they've been thin on the ground for the last decade.

That's a really good idea and a clever bit of marketing on all fronts that would benefit all parties.

I still think he could bring something to the team. He would bring another option and i think we would have a very healthy looking foursome of strikers who all offer something a little different.

If his wages are not astronomical then i think he would be well worth a shout. the kids love him and he could bring the crowds in.

Im for him signing...........

This couldnt happen, have you not seen all the merchandise in there these days...? In all seriousness this was mentioned when he was previously here and seemed like a good idea then also.

The club are on the look out for a new marketing manager, hopefully when this role is filled they won't miss any tricks like this. All the errea and other tshirts we have stocked in the past have been nothing but awful.

I am NO because he would probably be expensive and we could get someone better with the money but....if he came at a more realistic price......
Start with Rico and either Sinclair or Toney then Bayo and the other replace them in the second half to retain the big/little mix.  That would be an option to keep the presuure on the opposition.  He is good at what he does but would be a helluver lot better if his BMI was less.  He would probably prolong his playing career as well.

Most defiantly!

Great hold up player, good experienced pro be good for the lights of Sinclair and Toney.

He got 10 goals in league one and they wanted to keep him. Remember he turned them down! He must have something lined up and I hope it is with us.

Probably contract length he didn't like at Gills.

He just needs to find a lower league club with a fondness for issuing lengthy contracts.  Oh....    Shocked

Bayo or John Marquis?

Bayo or Matt Tubbs?

Bayo or Luke Norris?

There are other options...

Bayo is FREE, others would command some sort of fee...

No other player like the big man imo

If he comes back as part of a rotation and accepts he would not be guaranteed to start the YES! A strikeforce of Rico, Bayo, Toney, Sinclair and (fingers crossed) Nicholls would be amazing. Personally I would then like to see us play a 3-4-3 more frequently with Rico, Bayo and Nicholls starting

I'd rather not watch yet ANOTHER season of hoofing the ball to a man who's body mass is trumped only by his ego.

His wages will be the size of his ego. MASSIVE....

Who are these strikers better than Bayo with the funds?

If it's Marquis consider this;
He would cost £100,000 and demand £2,000 a week. Over 24 months that costs £148,000.

If it's Norris consider this;
He would cost £75,000 and demand £1,500 a week. Over 24 months that costs £111,000.

Bayo on £4,000 a week (what Platt was rumoured to be on btw) for 24 months would cost £96,000, £3,000 a week = £72,000 etc . Don't talk to me about sell on values because I can easily point you to the long list of strikers who have turned to sh!t under us and gone for nothing. Guaranteed goals for 2 years for less than £100,000 plus the income generated from shirt sales and the potential other signings he can attract = priceless.
