Its a miracle he's training after that horror tackle from Mcc***. Nico broke his leg earlier when he played for Walsall so I'm optimistic he's ll be back.

I think that because Nicholls can also play as a winger, an area we are not blessed with cover should Hackett or Mohamed get injured it will help his case of earning a new contract. I'm really not convinced we need the target man that has been talked about I feel in the past it has just encourages aimless long balls.

When your 1-0 up with ten minutes to go and under the cosh it's good to have a target man to lump the ball up to who can hold on to it/win a free kick and relieve the pressure.
If you don't have one the chances are the ball will keep coming straight back and the pressure will tell.
I'd be inclined to get rid of one of the fringe players and bring in a target man at all costs (and an experienced one if the budget/player your moving on allows.
Away from home 10 minutes left double sub target man/tozer(if not already on) long throws, corners, free kicks....bingo.
For me its vital to keep Ben tozer and well worth having the option of a target man.

Think it was the Wimbledon game where we sent Diamond up top and he was very effective, as Langers has been in the past. They can certainly go up there when needing a goal. I dont think they would be particuarly effective when trying to run time down however.

I would have thought if you were 1-0 up with few minutes to go you would keep possession, not lump it anywhere - that's when you are 1-0 down.

Been told by someone who is supposedly ITK that Ben Tozer is on an awful lot of money with his current contract and that is why he has been offered reduced terms on a new deal commensurate with his actual ability.
Cant see him playing much of a part in the first eleven but he could bench warm for another twelve months on a good whack if he so chooses.

Ok, right, the McCombe tackle was f***ing stupid, he deserved his red, but he went to the hospital after to check on Alex, Alex acceped his apology and he didn't go in with the intent of breaking his leg in two places, so let's now become stupid Arsenal fans booing Shawcross or anything dumb. Accidents happen.

My take on the incident was that McCoombe certainly didn't mean to break Alex's leg BUT he did mean to "wallop" him. All that "he went for the ball" is b*llox , he knew Alex was scoring and thought "I'll hit him anyway".
    It was no accident

Boo him and the other 10 as well.
Cheer Alex and everyone else in town colours.
He should feel bad about it. Stupid pointless challenge with no likelihood of a any positive outcome at all.

Completely agree, the ball was pretty much in the net by the time he dived in. He definitely knew what he was doing and when you act stupidly like that there is always the risk of causing serious injury as was unfortunately the case.

He got away very lightly with a 3 game ban if you ask me.

AGREED 100%.

Even Boothroyd said so at the time. The thing is, he will get booed...but I would much rather our 'support' concentrated on our own team, holding a grudge doesn't get you anywhere. Alex doesn't hold one so why the fcuk should any of us?

It was a reckless challenge for sure (hence red card being right choice of colour)  but there wasn't an intent to hurt him. Split second decision taken that was the wrong one.

Spit second decision made 30 seconds after the ball hit back of the net
