Very good move for both parties.
Judging by Exeter's toothless display on Saturday, he could well be in for some significant game time.

He's been slagged off on the Exeter forum for being very poor and putting in no effort.

Hmmm to be playing again after his injury suggests a superhuman amount of effort!

Sounds like he may have been played on the right wing rather than up front.
I have to say that Exeter are one of the worst sides I've seen at Sixfields for a long time. Hopefully Nicholls can get as many minutes as possible under his belt as possible, but it might be a bit much to expect goals, given that he is playing in a side who are likely to be struggling to impose themselves.
I just hope Exeter fans cut him a bit more slack. One thing you can never legitimately accuse him of is a lack of effort.

Great news that he played for 90 mins. What a fantastic effort this man has shown, that injury would have finished many players, but not Alex, very well done mate.

Just checked the Exeter forum...around 8 or 9 post match comments on the Nicholls thread all saying he was completely useless. To be fair, none of them slagged the guy off other than his performance 'levels'.
The thing is..he hasn't played for 22 months. So this was totally to be expected. He needs 3 or 4 games, then we can gauge a qualified view as to whether he has anything still to offer us.
Wilder has played this very smart. Loaning him out to another club at our level who will give him sufficient game time. He could easily have been sent to Kettering, scored 6 goals in 4 games...and none of us would be any the wiser.
Id love him to do the business for them, return to us and be back in the fold. BUT its a big ask. A very big one. Fingers crossed though.

Three or four games?!?! He's been out for twenty two months with both bones snapped in one leg! It'll be a very, very astute medically experienced sport therapist of some sort to assess his future in three or four games.

They're just upset because they're skint and they lost again.

Won their penalty against Oxford today. 'Covered a fantastic amount of ground and doesn't look a bad player' according to a poster on exeweb.
We could have done with him today - seem to remember that he was very good as a left winger during his early run of form under Boothroyd.

Are you sure? I was basking in the fact that The Bipolar Yellows from the ghetto still haven't registered a single League win so far!

Sounds from all reports that Alex had a good game yesterday - 2 x 90mins under his belt already.
Wilder will have an interesting decision to make once his initial month is up...
