Experienced centre half who we would have heard of is training with us apparantly, not match fit though apparantly, anyone care to guess who it is?

Chris Perry? Although Tyler may have a point with Davenport given our habit of signing ex Coventry players.

Posted by me in another thread.....
October 20, 2010, 14:42:07 pm Experienced Central Defenders on the PFA unattached list..... Darren Powell, former Palace and latterly MK Dons defender, or Jay DeMerit the former Watford and USA international. I knew people at the club read this board!!!

With Hall filling in well, and Beckwith and Hinton available again, I'd rather get a striker in.

Hall was superb today. Had Bayo in his back pocket (on what was admittedly an off day for the big man, but containing him is still something to shout about), made some great interceptions and clearances, and kept everyone calm and composed after we conceded early, and in the last 20 minutes while we were clinging to the lead. He is exactly what we needed all along on that performance. Would be cruel to boot him out the team now and stick Powell in. I hope the money is spent on an experienced CM instead. Osman, Wedderburn and Gilligan kept giving it away today and we could do with a Hall-type figure in that department as well.

i think that we need a centre half more than a striker as leon is on scoring form. what do people think to hinton?

Can do a job for us when we're in a pickle with suspensions/injuries, but his age and problem knee mean he's not a long-term solution.

I agree that Hall was good in the centre but would be wary of playing a player out of his natural position after what happened with Holt (who was great today!)

I said today that it's a shame Purcell is out as he'd have been an excellent partner for Leon.
