Title: Trust Communication
Post by: Melbourne Cobbler on July 19, 2021, 16:11:14 pm
I have been quite vocal in criticising the Trust for its lack of engagement and inclusiveness with its membership, particularly as I felt it contradicted its own mission statement. Well, just over an hour ago I received my first direct unsolicited communication as a member of the Trust since I joined. It read as follows,

Dear Trust member,

Have your say in the fan-led review into English football!

Former Sports Minister Tracey Crouch and her review panel would like to hear your thoughts on proposals for football reform - to have your say, please click the below link.

The attached document gives some background information.

Please make your submissions by this Thursday, 22 July.

Thank you.

NTFC Supporters Trust.

I would like to personally thank the Trust for this initiative, brilliant. Hopefully the first rays of a new dawn.

Can you put the link on here so that other Trust members can join in?

As the email was addressed to me personally and putting the link up would allow non members to respond, I think the Trust should address any issues directly DC. I take it that was the intention of your post anyway?

Latest Trust update detailing the fan led review above, and instructions if you haven’t received an email.

Have I read it right. Does it say we have until this coming Thursday. Then give the date as October?

Well done to the Trust.

All completed.

I hope my suggestion for more knitting circles Trusts is acknowledged  8) ;D :P :P

That is going to blow the minds of the anti-Trustites

It's a great move by the Trust and overnight will be boosted their street cred dramatically in many peoples eyes.

Why? You obviously don't understand the 'anti trusties'.
I would suggest the vast majority on here who have criticised the Trust want them to be stronger and have more 'street cred'. As someone who doesn't think the Trust represent the fans currently and been disappointed in their approach to things this is a brilliant appointment.

The BBC reporting good stuff, that’s so true - surely not!
We will make a liberal of you yet 😀

Who are these “anti - Trusties” - in the vast majority of cases the folk who have made comment on concern the way the trust have gone about recent business have been both articulate and respectful- if a democratic organisation cannot take reasoned  criticism from its members then it ceases to be democratic and labelling individuals as that actually have a similar overall objective as “anti” is unhelpful.

….to your other point, yes a great appointment and well done to the trust in making this happen.

You and London clearly aren't anti-Trust. There are the pragmatic and constructively critical and there are those who detest the Trust. Then there are others who are critical but too far down that path (for the sake of egos) to change direction. The evidence is clearly there throughout numerous threads and those people know which camp they sit in. I don't think that is even up for debate.
People are also well entitled to change their views as often as they wish to. That's the beauty of being your own person and not worrying what an anonymous bot may write, the approach what many famous people must take.
It's only another prime example of the polar opposite views which are rife in just about every walk of life due to social media.

It's no different to when the magnificent Sam Hoskins bangs a goal in or (sadly) if we lose and some get some perverse pleasure to hammer home a point.
There are some that be confused with their emotions..."Sh*t, I really hate the Trust but I quite like Atko"

I just really hope it adds weight and credibility to their standing, as well as clear direction of what they are striving to achieve as a representative body.

Indeed. A good move in my opinion.

The last paragraph of the article is the bit that grabs my attention the most though.

Does that edit now satisfy you Deepcut? Didn't realise that a mod could edit someone's personal choice on here.  :(

This is excellent news, well done to everyone involved and especially to Ian Atkins, a huge step in the right direction.  Exactly the the sort of announcement we required and sets us up very nicely for the New Year.

Careful Mate, There are some on here who will find a way to turn that round into being an anti-trust comment.
