To be fair a point away from the in form team is probably not a bad result. Even though they were down to 10 men. Sounds like the performance wasnít great at all. But Sutton are in great form, so a point away, ensuring they donít pull away from us, isnít terrible.

Given 2 poor loses against Swindon and Crawley, getting a draw from Forest Green and Sutton is probably half decent just to stabilise things after those loses.

Just need to now make sure we get back to winning ways and donít allow the others to overtake us.

Definitely need to work out how we can score some goals consistently though.

Spot on post Jonesy

Yesterday wasn't even close to comparing to that night at Basingstoke. Been to some games that were cold but Basingstoke was something else.

Really entertaining game, thought Cambridge were a cut above anything weíve played this season.

Best game at Sixfields for ages. I must admit I was really looking forward to this game, to see how we would cope against a Lge 1 club. They are a good side but we matched them all the way, we really stuck together as a team. The crowd could sense it and really got behind the lads. The only negative was a lack of home support. UTC

You're too kind, thank you!

A Black Sheep or even better a Jennings Cumberland from our Cumbrian friends to rub in the 3 points! Poured respectfully into a Nonic glass if you can find one, and pause just a moment to let it settle wondering at the golden haze as it reveals a clear elixir of life. As you slowly kiss the glass for your first sip, take in that glorious aroma for a second...before diving it.  Tongue

We will of course be providing our own superb range of craft beers, naming them could be fun. However for a full all day venue as this, providing all the usual demand products required we also need a major brewery tie up which could be some fun negotiating with the plans we have. The tech services package and the supply an installation of the in house brewery would all be important factors. They pay for all of this.

We were toying with ideas tonight and one proposal is to sub the coffee section to Starbucks or the like. Its worked at one place here as the lost revenue from supplying in-house is more than supplemented by the fixed income and the draw of a large name. You feed from that and can concentrate on delivering a high quality product yourself. The in house restaurant gains more covers from the exposure gained from coffee visitors. Unless Evers is a barista?

Although preliminary and experimental, what we have so far stacks up (as a venue) so it should make interesting viewing when completed.

Enjoy that pint!

Although they're are not a major brewery, what about trying to get Phipps on board Steve? I must admit I've never had a bad pint in the Albion Bar, also would we really need a major brewery if we were selling a good selection of Craft Beers? Just a suggestion mate, it would also be good to have a local brewery on board. I'll have a pint for you as well tomorrow, and a big thanks for the updates.

That's not a bad draw. Local opposition that should bring a fair few fans. One of Calderwood's former clubs. A good test for us. Has the makings of a decent cup tie.

Is there news of any signings?
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Which League Would You Prefer NTFC to be playing regularly in? on: September 22, 2021, 17:17:26 pm
He asked 'regularly and established'..so by definition, we wouldn't be getting battered every week!  Wink

Correct Coolcat that's why I said Championship. Random you've given us 3 choices and you said regularly? So why would anybody chose lower than Championship football?
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Which League Would You Prefer NTFC to be playing regularly in? on: September 22, 2021, 13:01:28 pm
Where would you like to see NTFC established?

As we are in L2 against the likes of Crawley, Mansfield, Stevenage and Carlisle?

Perhaps L1 and games against Sh*tboro, Portsmouth, Accrington and Oxford (with the odd fallen giant thrown in)

or dream of the Championship and trips to Birmingham, Reading, Sheffield U and Cardiff (with the yearly prem rejects - could be Arsenal the way they are heading  Grin)

Genuine question, want to understand what fans want from  their club

Are you really expecting any other answer than Championship?
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: What do you think of Sixfields Stadium? on: September 21, 2021, 13:37:32 pm
Mmmmm, this thread is starting to take on a familiar theme.   Grin

Correct, lets face the stadium issue really doesn't need another thread.

Shame that Alex Jones didnít stay. I thought he looked decent.
Agreed, who did he sign for?

HORSFALL, thought once again Rose had a very decent game, pity about his yellow card.
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NTFC Trust Presentation to WNC on: September 10, 2021, 10:35:53 am
I know where you are coming from mate, but I think as a club we have an identity, L1 is where we should be IMO  but we need a few improvements in our infrastructure to make that commercially sustainable and not reliant on a sugar daddy to be bankrolling the club constantly.
Under the current plans that isnít going to happen, I am not in the Trusts camp when it comes to DB not making a profit from the land BUT it also needs to be fair, we need to protect our future.

UTC.
Very good post Manny
