1  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: League 2 play-offs on: May 20, 2023, 17:59:11 pm
Absolutely perfect couple of outcomes.

Add to all of this:

Cobblers being promoted.
Posh choking after the largest ever play off lead.
MK being relegated.
Scunny being relegated to the regional league.

And this is the footballing gods well and truly making it up to Northampton Town Football Club after last seasons debacle 😂🥹😂👊🏾

How they laughed last year at us. This is the most I’ve laughed during a football match in my life. Absolutely fu*ling hilarious.

Without doubt the biggest choke job in English football history, and you love to see it.
3  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: League 2 play-offs on: May 15, 2023, 20:27:20 pm
Exactly

Bradford. Our group of 6 purchased their memorabila on the 25th anniversary and then subjected to that abuse. A horrible club.

Both posts are absolutely spot on. There was 3 figures worth of fans who came straight to our section that day, after we had behaved impeccably for the whole afternoon. Tossers.
4  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: League 2 play-offs on: May 14, 2023, 13:17:23 pm
Carlisle. Most likely to finish below us.

Never forgiven Bradford for their fans throwing coins at us after the 25th anniversary of the fire, and Salford are horrendous.

Stockport would be okay but they’ve got the finances to compete, so prefer them to miss out too.

Cheers. I did have a ticket for one of those European games but it was postponed and I couldn't make the alternative date (In fact I'm not sure if the game was ever played?).

I had got a plan for next season, I'd got a mate whose father-in-law is on the Leicester City board and could get me tickets for away games. Sadly, given the Foxes form, I may have left that too late.

If you’re genuinely interested, get in touch near the time John. A Few of us will be going. One of the boys is a Ravens fan so definitely that game, and the other game should be a cracker. It’s normally pretty easy to get tickets right up to game day as loads get season tickets and then can’t be bothered to go.

I have been, many, many years ago when Wed were in the top flight. They lost 0-2 to Everton. I've completed the 92 several times but also like to the Cobblers at as many grounds as possible.

Incidentally I am at 90 again now, have Tottenham and Brentford to do, real problem getting tickets.

Don’t know if you’d have any interest, or if you’d count it. But it’s not too bad getting tickets for Spurs in the NFL international games. I’ve been back to back years. Incredible stadium btw.
7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Retained List on: May 11, 2023, 20:26:32 pm
Zero arguments with any of the decisions made by the club. I’d expect all three to sign deals, and that gives us a hell of a good foundation for League One life.

Thank you to all who contributed along the way. I truly hope Norman gets fixed up with a club and will be forever grateful for his appearances which saved us from the sh*t.
8  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: May 11, 2023, 20:23:52 pm
Not at all Dan.

I’m trying to not get drawn into it ha, we all know what will happen - I’ll say one thing, the usual suspects will jump on here and say another etc.

But essentially, some of the old board group  (I won’t say all, a few I believe genuinely do want to move forward & were genuinely receptive & friendly ) showed their true colours, some of the communication following that revelation was awful & I felt there wasn’t a way forward so leave them to do their thing!

Thanks for the quick reply.

It’s actually a shame that you didn’t think you could make a change to how things were.

I would be a liar if I said to you that I wasn’t a little bit sceptical of your intentions from abroad, but the thing that I fully respected was that you stuck your neck out and signed up to the cause to try and influence change. It’s disappointing to hear that you very quickly concluded that wouldn’t be possible. Has anyone else who joined the board at the same time done the same?
9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: May 11, 2023, 19:50:02 pm
As usual Carton you’re talking absolute nonsense, I was more than willing to “get off my ar*e” and do something.

Long story short, because there is very little point going into the details, I resigned and revoked my membership as I don’t believe the trust is going to move forward in a productive way having seen how things operate.

As for why I’ve stayed quiet, we’ve just had a pretty good end to  the season, so decided to enjoy that instead of arguing on the internet Wink

Hi Tom. Please don’t think this is me being a twät as I’m honestly not meaning too. I appreciate you commenting this evening.

As one of the "new blood" I really appreciate your faith and I will say that most of the retained board have been welcoming, open to change, acknowledged some issues of the past and want to move forward.

The first board meeting is on Thursday, let's hope that continues.

This was early March and by the sound of it, things had started well. What changed so much for you to resign less than a month after?

I actually think it would be useful to have an idea as that’s a drastic change in very little time.

Dychey was incredible. Easily good enough and gives a fantastic hug.

But Sammy gets it for scoring the goal that takes us out of the hell hole!
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: League 1 2023/4 on: May 09, 2023, 08:54:50 am
I want Wednesday up as they’re easily the biggest club and most threat to our title charge. But wouldn’t be too sad at returning to Hillsborough. I love that old ground.

Anyone but Posh going up for obvious reasons, but would be funny seeing them get spanked week after week if they did go up.

I’d like Carlisle up as they would finish below us, but wouldn’t be sad with Stockport joining us.
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Tranmere Rovers (a) - Monday 8th May 2023 - 1230hrs KO on: May 09, 2023, 08:50:46 am
What a bloody day. I love this football club 😂
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The Rise of Sam Hoskins on: May 09, 2023, 08:50:08 am
2016.
2020.
2023.

Three promotions. Who scored in each decisive day? Sam Hoskins.

That man’s end product this year has truly rammed humble pie down my throat time and time again; and it’s tasted delicious. What a goal to seal it as well. Outstanding technique and it was in from the second it left his boot.
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Tranmere Rovers (a) - Monday 8th May 2023 - 1230hrs KO on: May 01, 2023, 21:36:41 pm
Where does it state the game is on Sky? No confirmation from club and I can't see it mentioned anywhere else. Probably me not looking properly.

It was put on sky sports earlier. Granted it’s a bit odd if the club haven’t been told as yet 😂
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Tranmere Rovers (a) - Monday 8th May 2023 - 1230hrs KO on: May 01, 2023, 17:32:01 pm
It’ll be on sky. They 💯 will be thinking of last year.

Wouldn’t shock me if they pulled in Barton and Hill as guests.

Zero surprise, it’s on sky.
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Automatic Promotion on: May 01, 2023, 14:29:18 pm
I also said a while back, we had no choice - May 8th was the furthest Etihad would allow us to push back! Also got little time for knobs who book holidays coinciding with potentially important times of the season!

Only messing mate. My personal attendance this season on the road has been abysmal, I defo can’t talk 😂😂

Nobody will be paying the Tranmere squad from Stockport. One card joking about it on our least used message board doesn't make it a thing that's going to happen.

Also Leyton Orient weren't on their holidays, they beat Mansfield after the title was confirmed. We came out of the traps and hit them hard with 2 early goals. We then soaked up the pressure with a high pressing game before snatching the third on the break. We did a job on them.

It's not a conspiracy. I expect you to beat Tranmere next week but if you don't and we beat Hartlepool then you only have yourselves to blame.

Totally reasonable. Hoping to be playing you next year in League 1. Ironically my Manchester stag earlier this year included digs in Stockport, and your town was great  😂 but you can do it via the play offs.
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Tranmere Rovers (a) - Monday 8th May 2023 - 1230hrs KO on: May 01, 2023, 12:10:31 pm
For all of us that can’t get tickets or can’t get there for whatever reason , is there anywhere showing this game publicly so we don’t sit there on our own in desperation or joy watching rubbish i player ?
These things are best shared and it would be good if a pub or Carr’s put it on . I’m not sure what the broadcasting rights are though .

It’ll be on sky. They 💯 will be thinking of last year.

Wouldn’t shock me if they pulled in Barton and Hill as guests.
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Automatic Promotion on: May 01, 2023, 12:07:33 pm
Yeah you don’t need to worry about me Evers. I don’t schedule trips across the world when we have must win games  Wink The vocal chords are resting up in preparation.

The atmosphere will be quite something.
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Tranmere Rovers (a) - Monday 8th May 2023 - 1230hrs KO on: April 30, 2023, 13:19:54 pm
One things for sure. If we go into this game with our top scorer at right back. We will get what we deserve.

Hear bloody hear.
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Bradford City (h) Saturday 29th April 2023 on: April 28, 2023, 14:41:38 pm
I get the pessimism/ playing down things after last year.

But we’ve got ourselves into this incredible position due to the determination of the squad and management.

Forget about these nerves and enjoy it tomorrow. We will get the job done tomorrow. Up the Fücking Cobblers.
