The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer Transfer window

The Summer transfer window will officially open for Premier League and EFL clubs on June 10 and will close at 11pm on September 1. This is in line with other European leagues.
So, I assume, the 3 out of contract players have until this Friday to either accept or decline their offers...
Hopefully, ntfclad can shed some light if any are expected to stay...I'm not getting my hopes up!
Also, as pre season starts in few weeks, would expect some signings to be announced from Friday onwards...
Hopefully, we've got plans A, B & C in place so we're well covered with our targets/areas we need to strengthen...
I think we can move on now, if they were going to sign surely they would have by now Unless the club aren't announcing anything until they know the results of all 3

Did we get a sell on clause put in?
"Barcelona have met with the agent of Villa's England Under-19 international midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, 18. (Sport - in Spanish)"

He was there from November until the end of the season and in that time he couldn't instil any professionalism? He was there for over half a season and yet it was 100% not his fault they got relegated. If his players were not being professional all season then maybe he should have called in the youngsters sooner and maybe they would be better prepared for next season All he has done is probably damaged the careers of these kids as they are now going to be known as being in the team that was involved in the "most incredible final day turnaround" That young goalkeeper is going to have the spotlight on him every time he plays going forward

All teams have injuries, we need to crack on, which we are doing very nicely with the easier games to come And we would rather have these injuries as we approach the transfer window than get them months before or weeks after Good timing

Absolutely.
A decade ago tourists arriving here would step of the ferries with their backpacks, eyes full of wonder and excitement armed only with an inquisitive mind and maybe a moth eared lonely planet.
Now they step off with their heads buried in their phones, probably missed the distant islands and shoals of fish too on the ferry trip as they furiously twitter away.
When they arrive they no more ask questions, "where can I get a great snorkeling trip?" or "do you have advice about ferries?" No, they book online with One to go Asia, if they're lucky they only pay more for the service but very often they book online trips that don't even exist and stand in the street waiting for a taxi that never comes. The scams are online now.
When they finally pluck up the courage to actually speak to a real person, someone with local knowledge they discover the snorkel trip "company" doesn't really exist, the ferry they booked online has been cancelled due to bad weather so they cant get the next island in time for their pre booked hotel reservation and actually using Airbnb costs 20% more than Booking.com or 30% more if they actually paid cash.
Great hatrick though

What an awesome team and spirit under Ian Atkins. There was a real bond between fans and players back then that I had never seen before and have never seen since. Probably my favourite era after following the Cobblers for over 30 years

Brilliant cross and finish for the first goal but what I have noticed - especially in the last few games where I have looked out for it - is the reaction to our goals and the whole team seem to want to be involved in the celebrations and there seems to be a real togetherness. That is so important to teams who are successful.

Who would you blame for us going into last season ill equipped? The buck stops with our owners end of.
I think its hard to judge on last year, we went up after an early end to the season saw us scrape into the playoffs, there was so much uncertainty in football at that time with no indication crowds would be coming back into stadiums which would have had such a massive impact on income from this and sponsors. The club may have waved the white flag in terms of maintaining league 1 status but they kept the club afloat with no sign we were ever in danger when other clubs were publicly announcing they were close to othe wire And for anyone to say we are no better off than before the current regime came in is off their t1ts. If they hadnt come in there is the real possibility the club wouldnt exist now

The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The Rise of Sam Hoskins

All I'll say is Sam Hoskins is a very loyal and versatile footballer. Every club needs a Super Sam and hopefully he'll chalk up many more games for our club. You only miss things/people when you no longer have them and that will be the same with Sam when he does leave one day. He can frustrate at times but most players do at league 1/2 level. Keep up the good work Sam our super right back, left back, centre back, wing back, midfielder, winger and striker +1
