It may need to be an option sooner than you think!

If thatís the case, they should get our support. In a crisis is where fan ownership belongs.

2  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Who do we want to get promoted from the National League on: Yesterday at 17:01:31
If youíve not been followingÖ..

Notts County beat Chesterfield 3-2 and Hartlepool beat Bromley by the same score in the eliminators,
Then Torquay beat Notts County 4-2 yesterday, with Hartlepool beating Stockport 1-0 today, which means itís Hartlepool v Torquay for a place in League 2 next Sunday.

C'mon Torquay... obviously in line with my bias towards southern teams.

Morning mate.
There is a website now set up as well which gives the vision, partners, possibilities over funding plus a bit more.

Thanks Zen...

This lot and the Trust really need to spend a bit less time playing the football equivalent of the Sims.... 😂😂😂.

Iím sure that most of us will have seen The New Hotel End posts on Twitter and Facebook. I see that there is a post today about a stage being built into the back of a stand to create a music venue.

Whilst Iím supportive of creative thinking and having a vision for improving the match day experience I keep thinking all very nice but whereís the money coming from and outside of match days who would want to use it?
When you have a stadium still located in the heart of a community you have a greater chance of success and increased use of facilities throughout the year. Quite honestly I canít wait to get away from Sixfields after the final whistle.

The club has had planning permission for a marquee behind the north stand which could be a decent sized bar and this would be a good start.

Renewed my season tickets today for another season of blind faith

When this popped up on Facebook, I immediately thought it was another discussion forum. Iím the first to admit that Iím rarely in touch with most things. So at the risk of stating the obvious.... Is is pure the brain child of Tom Reid? Just a vision from his mind that he believes has some legs?

6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: League Two play off final and assorted Cobblers anecdotes of games of old! on: June 09, 2021, 19:00:39 pm
Anyone remember Dickie Hutt (sp)? Black leather jacket. Memories of him in 1981 away at Rochdale running behind the goal (p*ssed) swinging to kick the ball, missing and collapsing into the hoardings. Sure he used to get a chant. Probably dead by now. Marvo would know him.

Used to drink in the Welcome and many other reputable ale houses with Dickie Hutt.. Havenít seen him years, since I left the beautiful boroughs.

Boca Juniors
River Plate
S„o Paulo
Amťrica
Corinthians

Though I don't think my old team Tampines Rovers will give you much trouble.

And I thought you was serious... Thereís not even an half decent South American playing in that lot. It must have been nearly ten years since anything outside of Europe won it, once it was taken seriously....
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: League Two play off final on: June 05, 2021, 09:08:31 am
I have been reliably informed that our lowest attended away match was on Tuesday 5th May 1981 at York City

Apparently, it was attended by just 2 away supporters..

I love hearing all the stories of away days and home adventures.

I remember going to the Victoria ground to watch the Cobbs play Stoke in the Sherpa Van Trophy game I think there was about 10 of us.

I was at that game with my cousin, who occasionally posts on here. Iím pretty sure it was better attended than that. Not a lot though.. 😀.

Doc feelgood was with me at the game Iím referring to. It was against CD Marathon, and played at the SAS stadium.

Itís the moral dilemma. Do you support peoples freedom of choice whilst potentially exposing the population to increased risk, and to some extent imposing the consequence of that choice on others? Or do you force people to vaccinate abusing their liberties and protect the masses as much as reasonably practicable? The individual answer will invariably come down to circumstance. If either you or a loved one are at significant risk you are more likely to answer differently to a person who is in the position that neither they or loved ones fall into that category?

My personal view is that given the amount of global deaths and long term medical impact on significant numbers, as a society we have a collective duty of care to ensure we are taking all reasonable steps to minimise the risk for the majority. That usually means following the recommendations of persons and bodies qualified to make a balanced assessment and final judgment. However, whichever option is most likely to deliver the best result by percentage is generally perceived to be the correct one.

Iíll give that a hell yeah

This is what we want... A proper thread, with genuine input, from a bunch of lovely constructive folks.

I have a warm fuzzy feeling inside about this... Could be acid reflux though....
15  General Category / General Chat / Re: Coronavirus COVID 19? on: June 03, 2021, 21:29:52 pm
Well, no real surprise. There is now a black market in forged vaccination certificates in the fatherland, at the end of the day this is going to be everywhere as people with no vaccination are excluded from events or travel. Unfortunately to do such exclusion is tantermount to facism.

Iím not sure about over there. But over here, Iím sure they can check the validity of your vaccine via your NHS number if required. My vaccine, whilst done at work, was still registered with the NHS by the provider.

But they didn't fight off all contenders. Bask in the sunshine akin to winning promotion from the championship and be ready to be stunned by the quality of the oppostion to come.

I admire your tenacity, but you'll gain no traction trying to take the shine of off this one mate.

Just out of interest. Give me a couple of names of these sides that are going to ďstunĒ me.

Then I can decide whether or not you are just trying to spoil the celebrations we are ALL enjoying thanks to a great English team bringing home the trophy.
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: League Two play off final on: June 03, 2021, 21:03:01 pm
As a true supporters of the Mighty Cobbs I was at that game. As an even morererererer truererererer supporter, I reckon I can say that I also attended our lowest ever supported away game as well.... Albeit a friendly.

I mean, Iíd be surprised thereís a more universally disliked (apart by fans of Glasgow Rangers) club and fanbase in the country than Chelsea! I personally resisted the temptation of responding to this threadís opening post with one of those green-faced spewing emojis  Grin

Tripe...

They've never won the League 2 Play-Off Final once, let alone twice... Cool

Soon as Ambramovic departs, itís on the cards...
20  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: All rise for CHELSEA FC. Officially the best team in the world on: June 03, 2021, 10:13:39 am
Yes a war to be lost to better teams from the rest of the World later in the year. I do hope that crow tastes good.

That as maybe...... But, they won it. They have it. So for today, the stage is rightfully theirs. They are by the fact that they fought off all contenders, the champions of the hardest contest in world club football. Iím going to bask in the present and the facts of today. Iíll let you ponder what may come later.
