Certainly when i bought my season ticket, there was no indication that the whole season would be a washout
2  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Season ticket holders on: March 05, 2021, 18:31:50 pm
I'd have liked for all ST holders to have their names on the anniversary shirt. Just because one fan can afford to donate to the club doesn't make that fan more loyal or more worthy.

Agreed , we are all effectively donating 10% of our season ticket money anyway, as we are only getting a 'refund of 40% given that i follow is half the price of a game
3  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Season ticket holders on: March 05, 2021, 09:49:51 am
2 days on from the meeting , nothing has been revealed  following the meeting with a mish mash of 'fans groups' ,none of whom represent me as a season ticket holder or indeed probably the majority of st holders . It is believed that some deciding were not even season ticket holders. WHY the secrecy yet again, the last zoom meeting between the club and a podcast was also a bit secretive unless you listened to the podcast . Id  much rather read stuff, be it on here or the club website . seems to me the club has go to groups, to pass on information . Who were these anonymous  individuals with their so called representations. Have they all been sworn to secrecy , much like the trust who have allegedly seen kelvins plans .  Bit of transparency wouldnt go amiss
What was decided ? who proposed what ? why wont you tell us anything ?

Great news , lots of best wishes on here whilst biting their tongues and grimacing
5  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Jon Brady on: March 03, 2021, 20:17:15 pm
Similar to Jean G's sentiments; all very admirable with perhaps item 5 bring relevant.  I think your use of 'rationale' is admirable and might have helped me to be more succinct. Some of your proposals appear to be personal views based on dare I say it ; Tinted Glasses. Far more hard nosed appraisal would help on team tactics, game plans for L1 survival, coaching  and the type of player required, transfer policy etc. I wouldn't mind a suggestion or two how to avoid the migration of key players at the end of season! To put it bluntly IMO personal sentiments are fine but if you support the immediate selection of a manager you may need to convince some hard bitten sceptics on here.

I think maybe you should ask Jon Brady  these questions, how on earth is anyone other than him likely to know the answers to your questions.
youve named paul Cook as your choice without giving reasons as why or any of the aforementioned  questions
6  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager on: March 02, 2021, 21:04:32 pm
I like Brady, but the actual football today hasn't been much better than Curle's, we've definitely played better than this today and lost.

Miles away from Curles football , we scored and kept a clean sheet
7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager on: March 01, 2021, 15:59:19 pm
No more of an agenda than some did at Curle. If you can't see the double standards then you're a bloody idiot.

Grin yeah you started on Brady after 2 games , hardly a comparison when Curle got off lightly.
8  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager on: March 01, 2021, 15:57:13 pm
Yeah guys let's just stick with Brady "because he plays good football"  Roll Eyes

How many games are we going to give him 5, 10, 15? Maybe, the chairman is waiting for his first win to then announce him as manager.

JB must have upset a few players after Saturday with his comments after the game and is only going to pick players "up for the fight."

A new manager could give us that important new manager bounce that could see us out of the relegation zone and bring confidence to the players for the run in.

There again it could be everyone is resigned to relegation from supporters to the people running our club.

And could equally get nothing out of these players, and end up relegated anyway.
9  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager on: March 01, 2021, 15:53:49 pm

I take it you have an agenda against Brady did he turn you down as a youngster ?, your last 20 posts are about the manager (bar one),youve made absolutely no suggestion about who should take over, and in those 20 post not one mention of the games played , have you actually seen this team under Brady
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager on: March 01, 2021, 15:18:38 pm
Forget all this bringing in of a 'what's left available' manager. Give the Brady bunch a rolling 12 months contract now. They have improved us significantly over the last few weeks, it's just that serious individual mistakes have cost us a couple of wins which would have put us in a much better position. We are probably odds on to get relegated from where we are at today but Brady and co will, in my opinion, give us something watchable and probably a decent league 2 position next season. I think we might beat Plymouth tomorrow as long as we can cut out serious defensive errors.

I reckon you are correct, we need to give Brady a break , not sure anyone will save us now, so why change, hes been hamstrung by an injured keeper,  a winger that isnt 100%, a strikeforce that doesnt strike and a relentless run of tiring games . Another manager , wont suddenly turn our strikers into Aguero and Salah, nor Keeper into Ederson.
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Plymouth at home Tuesday 02.03.21 on: March 01, 2021, 10:05:38 am

           Chucky Rose
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Swindle Town away Saturday 27.02.20 on: March 01, 2021, 09:59:00 am
I'm well out of touch with these things I have to admit, but I would be questioning the sanity of those who decided that Arnold was fit to sit on the bench but not start if that indeed was what  was being advised. What if Mitchell gets a head injury in minute one and Arnold needs to replace him. How is that any different from being fully fit and able to start?
Regards Miller, as manager i would be asking the player what he thought and considering his view. I fail to believe any professional player agreeing with a prognosis that their own hamstring will only last 45 mins max. How can you put a time frame on pulling a hamstring in a game of football. It's not like hitting the wall as a marathon runner or going more than ten rounds as a boxer?
Its been a very long time since I did anything on the sporting field but when I was, I would trust myself more than any physio or sports scientist if I had tweaked a hamstring.
Reading books, doing science and learning stuff works to a degree, but they can complicate things at times  Grin

Maybe hes not match fit ,wont last 90 mins, if he overdoes it when tired could mean overstretching and then doing a not fully recovered hamstring
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: THOMAS YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED on: March 01, 2021, 09:44:51 am
In my opinion, Thomas is as genuine as the Cobblers tat they sell on the hill on cup days . I was there at his opening episode with his whiteboard and pictures, "im a football man " he declared "ive got 4 million ringfenced" he said. for all those in the 'wed be at the racecourse' camp, there was another consortium at the time, but Thomas won the bidding , probably with the same bulls***.So the thought that he saved us and we would be out of business is entirely wrong We are reckoned to be 8-9 million in debt, the same as Cardoza put on us. How the fcuk are we ever going to move forwrd with this bloke in charge.
Hes an Arthur Daley type salesman , silver tounge, no substance, hes managed to aquire all that land, how much has it cost him to con that off the receivers.?
Im almost done with the Cobblers till hes gone, i stuck with , backed and campaigned for the last conman ,' i wont get fooled again '
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager on: February 25, 2021, 19:51:49 pm
Quite frankly, I'm a little sick of hearing about KC's 'personal circumstances'!
'Great guy, very personable, blah blah...'

He talked utter s***e about 'fundementals, basics...' with far far less tangible and tactical language that fans could relate to, compared with Jon Brady.
Despite his protestations and apportioning blame to all but himself for the players not 'doing the basics' whatever that means, he masterminded the most negative, turgid, one dimensional football ever witnessed by many of us, as well as being viewed by opposition fans as the worst team in our division, capable of (poor) hoof football...the performance at Sincil Bank aside!
Little sympathy...should have happened back in December!

Dont sit on the fence  Grin totally agree
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager on: February 25, 2021, 19:47:50 pm
Could you please explain what evidence you have for this conclusion?
The evidence that Curle should be sacked was there for all to see
The evidence in favour of Brady is much improved football, more attacking producing more efforts on goal
This in turn i believe will turn into wins/
Players are behind him some openly wanting him to have the job
Its clear that the players prefer to play without the shackles of Curles defensive football
Im not a fan of bringing in 'an experienced manager ' just beacause. Gary Johnsons CV was marvellous before he came here
and finally , why not Brady, where do all managers start ?
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager on: February 25, 2021, 14:23:52 pm
I am genuinely confused by the people who were very vocal about wanting KC sacked but are also now asking who is out there to turn things around. So many wanted him gone but now have no idea of which realistic target they would want.

You the same as everyone else dont know what a realistic target is , what wages are we going to pay , are we going to pay off another club. some including me though Curle was taking us down , i believe Brady can keep us up .
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager on: February 24, 2021, 16:48:16 pm
Iíve never once said that an experienced manager will guarantee success. Iím saying that in my view an experienced manager is what we need right now as opposed to Brady who has no experience near this level. Am I not allowed to hold that view?  Huh?

Brady has with him , 2 players with years of experience at this level, do you think they have no input, i doubt an experienced manager would get much anymore out of this current bunch, as i dare say hasselbaink most probably wouldnt have got anymore out of the squad he  had when he arrived , he was lucky to get the transfer window, which neither Brady had or an experienced manager will get
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager on: February 24, 2021, 13:19:40 pm
I can imagine Burton fans would have been saying a similar thing before JFH came in. Theyíve now won 4 of their last 7 games, theyíre the in-form team down the bottom and have a decent run of fixtures coming up. This situation is not irretrievable. I donít buy into the idea that there is no one out there who can turn this around. It has been done many times before and will be done many times in the future. I appreciate there has been some improvement, but it needs to translate into points and quickly. I know itís early but Iím starting to get Dean Austin vibes where we played better football but ultimately didnít get the results. The novelty of a new more attractive style of play will wear off very quickly if it doesnít translate into points/wins.

As I have said before, I have nothing against Brady and I do like the way he wants us to play. I am just not convinced he is the right man at this time. Happy to be proven wrong though. In any event, I donít think the uncertainty of having a caretaker manager for too long is good for the team, particularly in this situation. So KT needs to make a decision after Swindon in my opinion. Regardless of whether it is to be Brady until the end of the season or an external, KT needs to act very soon.

The addition of 12 new players more than the 'experience ' of hasselbaink id guess is the difference
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager on: February 16, 2021, 15:19:17 pm
Sorry if I've missed any, but these are the managers who have won promotion as a Northampton Town Manager...

Curle - Bristol
Wilder - Sheffield
Calderwood - Scotland
Wilson - Banbury
Atkins - Birmingham
Carr - Newcastle *I think!*
Dodgin - Gateshead
Bowen - Wales

Brady Australia, Sammo Up north , Rico Up North

No idea where the managers we've had came from who didn't win us promotion but there's plenty of them. Just not sure what the collaboration between achieving success coupled with a prior, passionate affinity to the club/area is. Sorry, was a bit bored this lunchtime!!  Grin

If I had to pick one of these names that are being bandied about, and one we could realistically afford, then Id go with the current Cheltenham Town manager. Or maybe a young up and coming coach like Rosenior, and create a director of football type role to oversee his and the teams development. Appreciate the latter is doubling up with cost though, so may not be a realistic option at the minute.

I cant help but feel though that a trouble shooter is needed to shake up the dressing room, but the issue with going down that route is if they keep us up this season, then what next beyond? Probably best to look for a long term solution but time is of the essence if we are to give the new guy a decent crack at keeping us up this season.

Really tough call for KT and co. Interviews by zoom, all that malarkey. Not ideal is it?!

20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The Brady Bunch V Burton Albion Saturday 13th Feb on: February 14, 2021, 20:25:59 pm
I think Brady came out and defended Bolger and Mitchell was to not throw them under the bus, their confidence must be shot to pieces as it is without their new boss slating them on the radio , anything like that should be kept in house for the bollokings
