McWilliams is in such good form at the moment and Leonard was immense first half but for the 2 assists it has to be Mitch.
42  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Harvey Lintott on: December 11, 2023, 13:18:39 pm
I agree. Really impressed with him last year so would have liked to see at least regular off the bench performances from him this season. I guess it’s a good sign though that our squad is that bit stronger going into the serious part of the season!

He was at the back of the West sitting with Ben Fox on Saturday - he didn’t look too down hearted!
43  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Fleetwood Sat 9th Dec. on: December 11, 2023, 12:29:31 pm
This! Pinnock was lost as a number 10 - leonard isn't and we seem to getting more out of them both at the minute

Agree - when Pinnock plays centre mid we lose a good wide left player and we gain a hopeless number 10! Lose / lose?  And we normally lose when he plays in the middle as well, so lose / lose / lose!!
44  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Fleetwood Sat 9th Dec. on: December 11, 2023, 12:23:19 pm
Their manager thought they should have had 2 or 3 stonewall penalties. Sitting high up (centre) in the West I saw one 50/50 decision (but we were at home!?) and 2 that really should have had their forward(s) booked for blatant simulation. Me thinks Mr Johnson is feeling the pressure!!
45  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Fleetwood Sat 9th Dec. on: December 09, 2023, 20:38:07 pm
Another good game to watch. Both sides tried to play some good football. Both sides missed a hat full. The big difference being our superb defence and their sh*t one.
I’ll quote JB back at us … don’t get too high, don’t get too low!
Fleetwood were the better side in the 2nd half. We missed half a dozen 1 on 1 (2 on 2) chances. They fizzed the ball across our goal mouth on at least 3 occasions!
A bloody good day at the office and an entertaining one too. I’m really  looking forward to the real test that Poxford at home will be.
46  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The 'Clare Balding' POTS Fleetwood (h) December 9th 2023 on: December 09, 2023, 20:22:43 pm
Sean McWilliams. For that amazing run for the penalty and, as usual, giving his all and putting his feet, head and heart into every tackle.
47  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Home against Portsmouth 02.12.23 on: December 03, 2023, 07:54:35 am
Whatever his nationality their number 8 was an absolute delight to watch - so much time on the ball, so relaxed, finding a man with every pass, taking people on and running into space. Everything good seemed to go thru him.
Yes, they were the best we’ve seen this season but I was quietly hopeful upto the 47th minute.
Very frustrating - if Bowie had passed to an unmarked Sammy we might have gone in at 1-1.
That said, I agree with someone else’s comment, that Portsmouth seemed to have another higher gear to go into whenever they wanted to.
I have to reluctantly agree with Manny … I appreciate Thompson is just a young lad, but we really do need Burge back!
48  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The 'Clare Balding' POTS Portsmouth (h) December 2nd 2023 on: December 03, 2023, 07:42:20 am
Hard to pick - not because they all had an off day but because they were playing a team at a “different level”. Although he clearly made a boo boo or 2, I’m going to go for Sean McWilliams for his usual never say die attitude and his wonderful new hair do!!
49  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The 'Clare Balding' POTS Cambridge Utd (h) November 25th 2023 on: November 25, 2023, 18:40:08 pm
Yeh Leonard was great but ..
I thought McWilliams was great first half and Bowie was brill 2nd.
Gunna mix it up a bit though and go for MacGowan.
Mr reliable at right back and centre back. So much drive and passion and made a few killer passes too.
A good show by all the boys to be fair.

Untrue, just another remoaner lie.

Fabulous news Manny. You DO have the ability to easily move to NL or spend as much time there as you want and flit between Rotterdam and Rothersthorpe. Any problems, just mention that SinCobb says it’s all ok.
Better news this week though, it looks like Ireland maybe an easier and closer destination of choice.

BTW SinCobb, I’m coming around to your way of thinking as I’ve discovered a significant Brexit benefit - it positions the UK that bit further away from all these European neo-nazi parties that Manny so rightly points out are springing up everywhere..

Afternoon Jim, hope you are well, I have a choice, Sweden, Italy and now Holland, you see the right is rising all over Europe a result of Mutti inviting over a million unchecked immigrants into Europe who will never integrate and cause endless rapes and murders.
The AfD are also now the second biggest party, the world is a mess caused by woke liberals.
Anyway have a nice afternoon and we must get together for a beer sometime 👍🏻

I’m sweet thanks Manny. Not looking forward to Xmas though. Mrs Jim was the Queen of Christmas and it just ain’t the same without her.

I think you’re missing my point buddy - you DONT have a choice of anywhere other than here. You did a few years ago but you’re now you’re stuck on this s***ty little island with all us wokies!
52  General Category / General Chat / Re: Politics on: November 23, 2023, 10:12:11 am
Massive congratulations to the Dutch this morning who have seen the light and elected the Freedom Party.
🇳🇱

Morning Manny.
Looking abroad again - You must be feeling more and more lonely / exposed in the Uk at the moment.
At least you’ll be able to move to Holland next year when the externe right wing UK racists finally disappear up their own backsides. You can start up the Dutch division of the Cobblers Supporters club?
Oh no, hang on a minute we voted to lose our freedom of movement and increase net migration to record levels!
Looks like your stuck with us Manny.
Im happy to keep you around Manny.

Actually, I have been thinking back a few years, particularly about the decision to have a referendum and the campaign he lead against Brexit and have come to the conclusion that you have a valid point. If Johnson and Truss had never been PMs, Cameron would be a strong contender.

Just so many to choose from. We’ve certainly been blessed with incompetence over the last 14 years!!
54  General Category / General Chat / Re: Politics on: November 13, 2023, 11:58:21 am
Her and her journo mates tried to facilitate a racist riot on Nov 11th and then she gets sacked for saying that living on the UK’s dangerous and freezing cold streets is a lifestyle choice!
As a proper patriot I’m appalled by that women’s integrity, morals and actions.
Good Fcukin riddance.

And now we’ve got the uks most inept PM to help us avoid another world war!!
It beggars belief how far the once proud and sincere Tory party have fallen.

Any way since Saturdays great win, I’m taking a more positive stance to football, politics and life!

So here is the positive spin from me …

Suella’s great legacy and one that she should be applauded for is ..
You don’t need to be a white male to be a nasty little racist!
Also, I look forward to her following Hancock and Farage into the Australian jungle!

PS I’m Really looking forward to Manny and Evers telling me that this is all the fault of the Left, Lefty lawyers, the BBC and all the wokeys! Don’t let me down chaps.
55  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The ‘Clare Balding’ POTS Burton Albion November 11th 2023 on: November 12, 2023, 00:47:52 am
Bowie and McGowan edging out Sowerby but I’m going to give it to Max Thompson.
Much much better today. This clean sheet will rightly give him some confidence.
I hope this nomination will help as well?!?
Well done young man!
56  General Category / General Chat / Re: The BBC and it’s coverage of the Israel,Hamas war on: November 09, 2023, 18:07:59 pm
I now see that the Hamas, ISIS supporters claiming to support Palestinians are planning to march through Whitehall on armistice day.
If the met police let this happen I guarantee there will be severe civil unrest, this is so disrespectful it’s untrue.

Hiya Manny.
British soldiers killed in WW2 made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedoms of people like you, me, the Jewish population and the peace marchers.
Our grandfathers died to stop the rise of facism.
To stop Gvts forcing their citizens to keep quiet.
To stop Gvts influencing the Press to be their mouthpiece.
To stop Gvts trying to manage how we are policed.
In short everything that Suella DeVille and her puppet Sunak are doing.
My grandad died in WW2 / I never met him but I know which side he would be on - and it wouldn’t be yours Manny!
Wake up and smell the coffee my friend the enemy within is not where you’re looking!
Also, spend less time bashing the BBC and more time counteracting the misinformation you think they peddle by campaigning for your beloved Tories on the doorstep. You have a golden opportunity coming up in Wellingborough - where another Blueboy has disgraced himself.

57  General Category / General Chat / Re: The BBC and it’s coverage of the Israel,Hamas war on: November 09, 2023, 17:56:03 pm
Don't disagree with anything you say although not sure it's a response for what I just posted.

I do feel very strongly on this subject and have a few simple views on a very complicated issue

1) The State of Israel's treatment of Palestinian people has been a disgrace for decades
2) Hamas or previous iterations of the same type have done nothing to improve that situation and have consistently made matters worse with their largely ineffective rocket attacks on Israel and occasional murderous terrorist action.
3) Their attacks in October were a subhuman disgrace and under no circumstances can be justified or indeed supported.
4) There are some unanswered questions about those attacks - Israel has an incredibly sophisticated intelligence and surveillance infrastructure so to be taken so by surprise is very strange.
5) The State of Israel has a right to hunt down and neutralise Hamas
6) The State of Israel's response in Gaza is in my opinion massively disproportional and again in my opinion more about revenge than defence.
7) A dead Arab baby is as tragic as a dead Israeli baby.
8 ) The Israeli strategy won't work - they will be converting moderates to new terrorists in their thousands amongst the bereaved and disaffected.
9) I despise individuals who engage in anti Jewish or anti Islamic actions or words.
10) The one piece of light has been community Arabs and Jews working together for a common understanding with a positive outcome for their communities - when I see people stirring the s***e rather than making any attempt towards solutions at least at a local level it is so disappointing.

58  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Brady out! on: November 04, 2023, 23:33:14 pm
Fcukin ridiculous discussion topic.
It’s only 2 weeks since the Orient game and we were 30 seconds away from a remarkable morale boosting victory.
Then we had to suffer 3 games without a striker and our number 1 defender / captain.
Yes, we’ve been sh*t over these 3 games but let’s just be a little realistic eh?
The manager needs backing by us, KT and most importantly, the players!

Get Burge and Guthrie back ASAP.
Get Bowie back and focussed.
Send Simpson back and get in a loan forward that wants to grasp the opportunity.
Get the cheque book out and back JB with a couple of L1 level attacking signings in January.

Do this and we’ll be ok. UTC
59  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The ‘Clare Balding’ POTS Barrow 4th November 2023 on: November 04, 2023, 17:02:54 pm
AK (until injury put paid to him?!)
60  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Barrow on: November 04, 2023, 15:09:46 pm
I get Derby outplaying us but this is Barrow?
They don’t seem to have any belief, confidence or passion.
Very disappointing so far.
