60 years ago on this very day in the upstairs back bedroom of number 16 St Michaels Mount. Mum and Dad, born in Ireland, were still very poor immigrants and could only afford to rent rooms on the first floor. Very proud Northamptonian and Anglo Irish man me.

Nooooo, that is such awfully sad news. Frank was a wonderful man and dear friend. And so brave through his horrible illness making sure he still got to as many games as he could with a smile and a quip. I’m gonna miss you Frank.
RIP.

The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Game at Sixfields, Steve Ogrizovic.

Good evening all, I wonder if anyone with a decent long term memory could help me. I’m trying to identify a photo and what game it was taken at? The photo shows Steve Ogrizovic, in what looks as though it may be a Coventry shirt, on a stretcher with paramedics and an ambulance driver around him as well as stewards and a few young supporters. At the back of the photo I can clearly see the old mike man Pete Smith so that has to give it a date of some sort. Does anyone have a memory of Ogrizovic being injured seriously enough at Sixfields that he would need hospital care. I got to most home games when Pete Smith was on the mike but have no memory of this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Ralph.

He's been building the east stand in the evenings as well.
Now that’s very disappointing, I’d have been far happier if he had been dismantling the bag of s***e instead. Curle out! . . . Ooh, that doesn’t sound right.

As you know mate, I’m in the same boat. But take my word when I say £850 a week (about what it’s costing my mum as well) is very cheap. I seen more than a thousand a day in my time working in healthcare. There’s at least one other who posts on here, who could tell a tale or two about the cost of care.
So. Putting all that aside. Have we got anything concrete from anywhere that we’re changing hands again?
About as much concrete as the East stand has seen.

Yes, same situation for my Dad - don’t want anything from the house sale inheritance wise but worried about the money running out. Places in Avery homes are nice but between £1000 and £1500 per week by the way - council contribution to someone who has to sell his home, use his savings, is around £240 per week net as they even deduct your state pension from the allowance. Who the **** can afford £70 grand a year for any length of time?
Maybe the new owner will give season ticket holders big reductions.

Jesus wept. That's insane!!!
We had to sell our Mums house to pay for her to go into a home in Northampton due to her dementia. £850 has been coming out of her account for two years now. We reckon all the money will be gone in about two and a half years. Hopefully they’ll keep her on after that but you can never be sure. Evil disease, all that money should have been for her grandchildren. Anyway, up the Cobblers.

There’s few things I love about your posts Ralph.. There is never any hint of sarcasm, or resignation about them. And.. You can guarantee a post from Alton will follow 😀😀
Never give up. Leave that to me. Even I’m out of it these days. I only catch the odd game at the moment mate..
We’re compatible stalkers mate. You should get one, oh hang on... I obviously don’t want to go down Nige but if we do I can’t see why it shouldn’t be an enjoyable adventure. And mark my words my friend, if we do go down and eventually promoted back the promotion season itself will be such a party season to remember with loads of us at relatively smaller grounds. It just might be the thing that rekindles the passion of so many fans we have lost or are losing. Look at the likes of Lincoln or Hereford, they’re having a great time. Lincoln had something like 1200 fans at Mac on Saturday!

I prefer to ring the positives out of a bad situation . . . I’m excited about all those new grounds next season. 13 I’ve not been at all never mind with the Cobblers as it stands. Get in there.
Great work KT.

I remember him arriving as a player, he was a classy player. I saw his recent interview yesterday where Gareth talks to him about his time at the NTFC Academy, it’s a pleasure to watch and see the pride in his time spent with our club and his achievements so obviously shining through. Thank you Trevor, you’re a proper quality act sir.
