Warnock recently said of Tyreece Simpson to the effect that he has everything in his locker, but needs to find a "will and desire".
This doesn't sound like a Brady player. (Although having tryers that lack talent may become less effective further up the pyramid!) On the other hand, if anyone can motivate him and make him a complete player, it's Brady and our coaching staff.

Thought Brough did fine. Good crosser.
Leshabela didn't pull up too many trees in his hour but as he's a Northampton ladso I'd like to see more. Interestingly, he's listed on Wiki as a winger / attacking midfielder, but this isn't where he played after replacing McWilliams.
Ash Hunter showed a turn of pace and that he's a decent striker of the ball, but looks very light-weight and is older than I thought.

...am expecting us to go with 3 centre backs, probably Sherring, Guthrie and Monthe, particularly away from home. I think with 2 in midfield we would get over-run so 3 midfielders leaving Hoskins up top with A.N.Other (when is he going to sign?)
Bowie already signed I had this same thought about our likely formation. Struck me that we need more depth in the midfield 3. McWilliams, Sowers, Honda is decent, but we'll need at least 2 more. Not sure where it leaves Mitch P either; maybe he or Hoskins could play in the more advanced of the 3 or as a 10, but I'm not sure it's ideal. I rate Mitch's crossing ability. Might still see 4-2-3-1 of last season when we go for it.

I remember that Huddersfield game that was abandoned due to the wind. We were playing well and Rico actually scored (which was a great rarity at the time, despite good performances aside from the lack of goals) only for it to mean nothing in the end. Think we lost the bloody replay too.

That's the point though isn't it. It's teams that have performed badly or need a significant revamp that need to rush into wholesale changes. We've been wanting close season evolution rather than revolution, then when we get it, people still moan.
Stevenage obviously had no faith in the ones that got them up. Will be interesting to see how the two differing approaches play out.

Pompey have signed Regan Poole, suspect he may have been 1?
Well, IF we were interested (given a pretty unsuccessful previous loan) it was never realistic that we'd be signing a player who decided he was better than Lincoln. Every club, even the European elite, will have missed out on some targets. There will always be others after good players and decisions are made due to financial AND other reasons. I think it likely that some on here spouting negativity about missed targets have no more clue than I do about how our recruitment is going. I just know that we keep landing targets that we've been pursuing for months/years, and I see that as positive.

Agree about Odoh. I guess a bit inconsistent, but at a good age and with bags of potential and pace, I'm a bit surprised too. Cracking signing for Harrogate that could turn out to be a great investment.

Bowie is a fantastic (re)signing. I'm over the moon.
Anyone worried about the "facts" of his "numbers", take a look at the factual numbers about the goals Sammy scored when Bowie was on the opposite side of the 3. No coincidence at all.
Carry on.

I thought he was an absolute liability last time I saw him - maybe it was just a bad game. Admittedly he had a moment of class that resulted in a goal, but I don't think you can carry players like that and be successful. Perfect match for Bratford then!

I thought Leonard was fantastic and what a player he could be by the end of the season. However, I'm not sure the strength is there yet to replace McWilliams or Sowerby. I see him playing in behind the striker like he did in the last 15 with McW and Fox holding. That cheeky backheel to set up the cross showed he is more than capable of being the creative force further forward.
Best ref of the season, but that really isn't saying a lot unfortunately.
Think the sun got to Mitch, but he'll be back. Thought Haynes should have come on there earlier.
By the way, aside from the Burge save everyone is mentioning, I thought the one immediately before their goal was superb - looking forward to seeing it again - just unlucky it didn't prevent the goal.

Leonard looks like he may have the pass to unlock a defence, so maybe he can help with creativity. On iFollow he also mentions playing all positions in a midfield THREE, which could be a further insight towards a revised formation this term.
