I don't wish to be a wet blanket but just remember Stockport play at the same level as Brackley. Warburton's record should be judged on that basis. I hope he makes it though.
Very true, look at Lobjoit. However, I like to think about it in reverse. How many would our existing players in that position, maybe Sammy Hoskins, JJOT or Pollock, score in Brackley's team? If its less than 27 (it is), we've potentially signed a better player than we have already.

A few weeks ago in an interview Goode was asked about the possibility of joining us permanently and he said something about a lot depending on whether Sc***horpe stayed up or not. I wonder if their relegation makes it more or less likely that we could sign him
He said he is not selected there in a League 1 team so he may be off if they stayed up, but of course it is more likely they may select him in a League 2 team, so it's less likely he'll leave them now. Still a possibility though.

That incident was disgraceful. Pierre gave him a bit of a blast and Taylor visibly went into a sulk and sauntered back with his head down as the counter attack disappeared down the field. Luckily it was snuffed out by others because Taylor wasn't back in position until after we'd regained possession. Grow up, man! He's quick enough to dish it out but obviously can't take it back.
I somehow forgot to comment on that. From what I saw, Pierre and Taylor were equally culpable for the initial incident. Pierre then rants at Taylor whilst the opposition counter. That's both our centre backs off the field at the wrong (attacking) end while Vale pour men forward. However, immediately after his rant, Pierre storms back down the field whilst Taylor has a sulk. By the time the counter is finally snuffed out, Pierre is more or less back in position. Only two of our players at that point are still back in the Vale half. Sordell (fair enough he's playing up top and holding position on the half way line), and Taylor. He'd made no more effort than a token jog. At that point he was fully 40 yards further behind play than Pierre, who he'd been stood too close to moments earlier. And to think he was captain. I know which one I'd rather have representing the club. Also... Given the look on Williams' face when he came off I'd be very surprised if he was the one complaining of fatigue. Whoever it was, Curle should have subbed them at half time and gave them the next month to do double fitness sessions before they can play again. Wilder's in depth homework to learn the character of a potential signing is something we need to copy in future to avoid signing so many without the mental character to succeed. The best teams of Carr, Atkins and Wilder were players who knew they weren't world beaters, understood and embraced their strengths and weaknesses, and so worked hard and played as a team to succeed. This lot clearly think they are a lot better than they are, even after a relegation and a crappy season in the basement division.

To be fair to Curle, his interview has installed a little more confidence in me that he does know what he is doing. We knew most of these players were gutless and we've seen it again. That said, it did remind me a little of Austin's last player bashing interview. Will be interesting to see next week's line up and whether he can get a positive reaction.
Sounds like a large release list is to be expected. Would love to know which player was saying they were fatigued at half time. They can be first out. Wonder how he thinks the team with 10 felt.
The only silver lining is that I'm pleased KC is not heading into the summer transfer window thinking these players are good enough.

Suspect we'll come out if the traps firing. Get 1-0 up, dominate territorially and miss succession of great chances. Followed by a poor second half display and desperately cling on for a 1-1. Again.

I’m beginning to seriously fear where this is all heading . Asset stripping , talk of desperation signings , terrible football , massive injury list , plumetting like a stone and unable to beat very poor teams .....
Its not really heading anywhere yet as it hasn't actually happened. Williams, Pierre, Turnbull... all still here. Sold 2 players a lot agreed with selling based on wages. TALK only. Football no worse thank was. I think it's marginally better, which says very little. Every team gets injuries, it doesn't mean anything. We're not plummeting like anything. We've been terrible all season and improved very slightly. We've been unable to beat very poor teams for 2 years. Cheer up and don't panic Mr Mainwaring (yet).

Typical home game. The better team, on top, get the lead... and repeatedly fail to take the chances to kill the game off.
There's something about Powell I like, agree not comfortable on the right but this kid will do well when he adjusts.
