I like the sound of these old boys, I think they’re full of spunk and bravado. Where does one find them.

Word on the street is there’s a couple down West Sussex way.

WTF is that, looks like something from Easter Island, give it till Christmas until it’s vandalised.

It’s an old prop from The Tomorrow People .... there’s one for the seniors amongst us.
24  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Welcome Tyreece Simpson on: July 26, 2023, 16:15:37 pm
Hey, Rob, nothing to do with Tyreece (great news about his loan, and apologies for going off-thread Mods) but I am sitting in lounge at Frankfurt Airport talking to the Valmiera FC squad who are on their way home from beating Tre Penne (I had to Google them) 3-0 in the Europa Conference League 2nd qualifying round .. have you seen them play in Latvia?

Put the word out but no chance of any loans.

When did we last challenge for a place in the championship with a 10,000 plus capacity?

Since thomas/cardoza/cdnl times we've been a 4th division club playing in a non league  ground..

I noticed you didn't ask how many times have the club been forced to announce all ticket games at the tiny non league Sixfields?
100s is the answer, technically due to capacity issues these must be classed as sell outs as folk are unable to buy tickets on the day.
Knowing you struggle with things outside the totals column, remember Brighton who average near 30,000 these days never got near that at the delapitdated withdean stadium...
Do you need me to explain to you why?

To be fair, whilst most of us would admit that Sixfields needs an expansion/upgrade, it is certainly not non-league.

You do those that serve the club a disservice with sweeping statements like that.

Not so far to travel for away fixtures this season, with my nearest only 26 miles away.  Cool

Reading?

We're Pompey 51 followed by Charlton 56.
28  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: League 2 play-offs on: May 20, 2023, 20:48:14 pm
Absolutely perfect couple of outcomes.

Add to all of this:

Cobblers being promoted.
Posh choking after the largest ever play off lead.
MK being relegated.
Scunny being relegated to the regional league.

And this is the footballing gods well and truly making it up to Northampton Town Football Club after last seasons debacle 😂🥹😂👊🏾

I guess adding a Joey Barton sacking to the above would just be plain greedy 😕

Anyone but Bradford ... let 'em fester where they are.

Pleased to advise that the trauma counsellor, booked for this afternoon in anticipation of lighting striking twice, has refunded my deposit.

I have still got the t-shirt and wear it occasionally to matches, not tomorrow though, it's probably going to be my lucky Lotto shirt.

I have also got the towel and in a few minutes time, I am going to use it to dry my freshly washed bőllőcks. The fact that I am revealing that to the whole world (wide web) probably makes me one of those weird but perhaps not wonderful posters.

I still love our little community even with it's occasional faults. I love Marvo in particular, even if I don't agree with all his opinions, he has every right to express them and to defend his (sometimes indefensible) position.

Go up tomorrow and I'll be commissioning some "Never Mind the B@ll@cks, Here's League One" t-shirts.

35  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Two Years of Jon Brady on: May 06, 2023, 13:17:32 pm
I think the more pertinent question, currently, should be: if things don't ultimately go our way on Monday or beyond, should Brady stay in charge?

For me, absolutely.
