421  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: NO WAY WILL IT BE A FULL HOUSE @ YOUR PLACE THIS SAT on: November 17, 2016, 17:22:03 pm
Ive read the proposed minutes of tonight's meeting and theres nothing on it of interest to me.
But heres a flavour of what we can expect...

Safe standing in one of the tiny stands..would look ridiculous.. so no thanks.

Repainting the mural in the carrs bar, having never seen the original due to the restrictions on entry back then. Ok with that.

Ticket allocation for our fa cup game at Stourbridge.
Got ours from Stourbridge direct so not of interest to me.

January's transfer window.. With the old..
Manager will be allowed funds to seek out who he thinks will make us stronger in certain positions.
Gary Deegan to re sign then.

Will we be signing those Brackley players who tore Gillingham to peices.. They have been approached but are waiting for oxford or mk to show interest.

There's more tents outside Sixfields at the moment  than was housing those refugees at the sangate jungle, will we ever see bricks blocks and mortar in place of canvas anytime soon?
As and when ....fill in corners if it should be required but deemed unessassary at the moment...

And my question on the night will be..

Have we as a club made any attempt to seek some  investment to allow us to build up the club to  achieve its full potential ?

Yes Franks burgers have got some new sauce dispensers in in time for Saturdays sell out ..

This is a lighthearted jokey post so dont get your knickers in a twist all those who see this as a swipe at the club ..its not.

I honestly believe we will hear some really progressive news from tonight's meeting..

Wouldn't: "I'm not going tonight because my convictions begin and end within the close proximity of my keyboard" have sufficed ??

Didnt go to Basingstoke but talking about the cold and the FA Cup. I remember freezing my bits off away at Canvey Island

Trust me, Canvey Island away was positively tropical in comparison to that night at Basingstoke.
426  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Magic of the Cup Thread (Harrow at home - Satdee) on: October 30, 2016, 17:10:56 pm
If anyone has that Canvey Island game on video or DVD please PM me.

Not that I'm in denial or anything .................... but what Canvey Island game Huh??? 😎

This could the 'banana' skin of all banana skins, But with any logic we must win it

What's the lowest ranked team we've ever played in the FAC ?
428  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Bury the Shakers. on: October 29, 2016, 08:24:49 am
Its obvious that some of our fans are financial advisors to the Chairman and intend to make him invest that £4,000,000 on some other club.. by telling him that our ground is big enough for the non league should we ever fall into it. Grin

Then as a committed fan of the Cobblers you clearly need to arrange that (long overdue) face-to-face meeting with KT in order to steer him back onto the right and proper course viz stadium capacity planning .................

Bit of a dampener!

Relax .... RP's playing the reverse psychology card !!

This short you tube video by Andy Hardy shows you what you can expect from the area in and around Sixfields.

  https://www.youtu.be/BpDclhYnEl0

He might not be in attendance himself with his lovely (if a little worried looking) dog though  Grin

Bizarre ......... I could have sworn at one point I saw a fleeting, subliminal image of Sixfields, as in the football stadium.

They do the worlds best cheese rolls apparently  Cool

I have been to see Horsham play there a couple of times and they do a good cup of tea in real china mugs that you can carry with you around the ground !

One day people will learn to stop making ridiculous snap judgements about players based on the previous ninety minutes.

One day.

436  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: October 14, 2016, 17:04:12 pm
This thread is brilliant.  There are people who pretty much exclusively post on this thread alone.  Do they have some sort of alert that goes off when a new post is made....."Sorry love, you're gonna have to pick the kids up today the lads need me on the redevelopment thread". "I've just got to cut and paste the same comments again as I don't think I've made my point strongly enough on the previous hundred occasions".  "I know it's a football forum but why talk about a successful team on the pitch when ground capacity is the thing that really does it for me". "Oh my god someone has just said we've got 8000 seats rather than the correct capacity....quick pass me those tissues and the hand cream and close the door behind you".

Saying 'impact' sub is a bit like B&Bs saying 'Full English' breakfast. It's an English breakfast...he's a sub!

Hi Pete, as much as I'd love to have a pre Pish beer with you all and have Mark sing 'Tie your Kangeroo down sport' to me for twenty minutes  Grin I won't get there till shortly before kick off mate. Sorry.

I can see that Mark's rendition of the old Rolf Harris classic (Dagenham away if I remember correctly ?) did not leave any sort of lasting impression on you !!!!
440  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Millwall H on: October 13, 2016, 17:44:29 pm
I do love a "Present Sir" spell of four games in 17 days especially so when it culminates in an away day at Pish.

Hey Ralph, maybe me, Steve and Mark will try to catch you for a beer before the Pish game ??
