It sounds like the intent was to make a significant change to the way the club operates, ideally with an emphasis on the player pathway that has actually created a number of players in recent-ish history that have gone to play at a significantly higher level than we are - one of them is more than likely going to be commanding a fee this summer that’s higher than the value of the entire club.
We’re well placed geographically to get young talent and we’re the only professional club in this county so there’s no reason why we can’t build a stronger identity of developing talent. Brady obviously has full knowledge of the club’s current prospects because he has seen them all come up through the youth system and I think that’s what’s given him the edge over an external candidate.
He is also the cheaper option financially and there’s no ignoring that.

I think deep down Curle knew the squad would be crap this season hence why he kept going on about good housekeeping as deflection, and many on here ended up seeing through that pretty quickly.
Now I don’t know if the club thought there would be loads of desperate players out there so we could get some players who’d be otherwise out of our price range but that clearly never happened.
I assume Curle had final say over signings so I can’t fully blame Tracey but it’s almost like the scouting team never adjusted their expectations of players and continued to sign L2 quality players thinking that’d be acceptable. Was anyone we signed in the summer actually an improvement on what we had in the position last season? The club get a pass for Goode as 7 figures would’ve been ridiculous to turn down. But Horsfall and Bolger (we paid a small fee for him too didn’t we?) were obviously worse than any of our core back 3 last season - whom formed a solid base for us to build off. Others have already mentioned the slew of forwards brought in who failed to fill the void left by either Oliver or Morton.
It’s clear that good players are available ‘within our budget’ because we had some of them already. Can almost be certain that last season’s league two squad would’ve finished above this season’s squad.
So yeah the recruitment needs an overhaul. You see other clubs sell a good find to a higher league club, then they replace them with another one and do it again. The Posh did it a number of times with strikers over the last 10-15 years.

If Brady ends up getting something out of the side he could be feasibly given a chance.
If not, the bookies have Sol Campbell as favourite and I think that’s probably the way it’ll end up

Presumably we also need to get working on moving some of these lads on? The squad is getting a bit bloated, we have at least 7 strikers now for example which really isn’t necessary, and we seem to have at least 6 players capable (to varying degrees) of playing centre back

If we were to sack Curle before the end of the year... Who would be in the frame to replace him, and would they actually get backed in January?

I think Holmes will be out the door next month
Agreed, said this a few weeks ago. You’d think now he’s proven his fitness he could do better than us, or play for a team that at least play football more to his strengths and aren't s***. One would think Curle is running out of time since that was disastrous.

It was fine imo, the main grumbles were people complaining about the one way system and the few people who were evidently in such a rush to leave that they did so before the game. Honestly found that baffling as we’ve been waiting for 9 months or so to attend a game so even if it was a bit of a s***e result, why the rush?
And like was said the stadium was cleared out in a few minutes anyway so not like it was much of an issue.

Bollocks. Not sure what anyone was meant to do about that, great tackle but the ball just bounced to their striker who had enough composure to dink it.
Red card honestly hasn’t changed the game that much, I wouldn’t say that goal was really inevitable or anything.
