I never said it was simple but plenty others seem to manage it... What's more annoying is it looks like we let one go.... Or near as damnit. And he's managed it in a struggling Orient side
and plenty on here couldn't wait to see the back of him

Our problem is as plain as the nose on your face.... lack of goals
I know it's ifs and buts but if we had anyone capable of sticking the ball in the net, we'd be virtually promoted already.
It's the same old, same old..... when was the last time we had a 20 goal a season striker.... McGleish?
Season after season this never gets corrected.... we must have tried 30 different strikers in the last 4 seasons and still the penny hasn't dropped. FGR have shown with their recent wobble that they're not complete but what they do have is goals galore up front.
Look at the teams above and around us.... I bet they all have a player who has scored more than our top scorer
I think Brady is good enough for now but regardless of whether we go up or not, he needs to address the elephant in the room
Doesn't that tell you something? 20 goal a season strikers are hard to come by. We all know we're lacking up front but the idea that you can just go out and sign a prolific striker is wishful thinking..... Every team wants a goal scorer. So even if you identify a potential signing there's no guarantee he'll sign for us. It's not as simple as many on here seem to think it is.

The MS character map app is readily available. In any case if I remember correctly you had words with me for failing to spell a name correctly - circa 2015.Ever since then have attempted to spell correctly inspite of spell checks USA best efforts. Otherwise spot on Blimey - talk about holding a grudge

If both have been released ie surplus to requirements by 1st and (an ex) 2nd League sides it says a lot they are probably not good enough for League 1. We should be aiming for a keeper who is without doubt capable at League 1 level and if possible also the Championship.
Players get released for all sorts of reasons. Do you know they've been released because the clubs deem them not good enough for League 1?

Disagree with this except the opening statement! Brady almost certainly would not agree. To many on here we are a great Club with a proud history! Not sure why you feel the need to publish such an OTT opinion? Grudge?
Grudge? What are you on about? What's OTT about it anyway? It's my opinion about the state of our club. If you disagree, fine - you're entitled to put forward your arguments to the contrary. Which by the way you haven't done. Saying we're "a great club with a proud history" doesn't really cut it.

I'm now of the opinion that it doesn't really matter who the manager is.
We've seen managers come and go. Occasionally we get lucky and achieve some short term success. Carr, Atkins, Wilson, Calderwood, Wider and Curle have all got us promoted from the 4th tier.
But any success is never sustained. At best we might hang around in League 1 for 2-3 seasons but the wheels always come off eventually.
We simply don't have the infrastructure to sustain a League 1 club.
We are a tin pot little club just off the M1, that play in a dilapidated Mickey Mouse stadium with no training facilities. How on earth can any manager achieve anything tangible under these circumstances? Any short term success is in spite of, not because of.....
Until we address these issues we're destined to just go round and round in circles and never get anywhere.

I've never started a match thread before! I know it's a bit early, but I have a dilemma that needs solving... So, for the Charlton game do I tempt fate and go back to watching on the TV, or is the moral imperative now on me to not change a thing and keep watching on my laptop until we lose again? This viewing from home carries a great responsibility... Of course if there was anything in such superstitious nonsense we'd be top of the Premier League...... .....and we'd all be sat here in our manky old skids.

The pitch is in the worst state it's ever been in and was much mentioned on the Sunderland forum's match thread. Personally I'm embarrassed by it as it makes us look tinpot, especially after having a pitch like a carpet and winning multiple Groundsman of The Year awards for it over the years, but the reality is that's how Curle wants it because it suits our agricultural style and makes it harder for better teams to get their game going on it. So I think he's going to continue churning it up by training on it everyday. It must break the groundsman's heart...
An age old tactic. Atkins used to leave the grass longer to stop the ball running fast and true as a way to stop 'footballing teams'....

Two birds from work stripping infront of me at one's apartment...and being a wet behind the ears 18yr old, did nowt! I'll get around to the other nine missed opportunities some other time! Bit like the Cobblers then. An open goal but couldn't poke away the winner!

Change of referee for tonights game, we now have Trevor Kettle who reffed our 4-0 defeat at Portsmouth. In 11 games this season he has issued 30 yellows and 2 reds. Could be a good omen as in the 11 games the home team has won 9 (including all of the last with 1 draw and 1 away win. Oh no, not Trevor Kettle!!

Funny as this is pretty much what everyone was saying last year and we got promoted.
You would think having a influx of new players , people would maybe have learnt to give manager a bit of time but what do I know
Unfortunately the usual suspects on here can't wait to pile in with their "told you so attitude"
