Must be the first time i've EVER agreed with TED , but it doesn't make me a tw*t  Grin

Yes no doubt about it, I totally agree...Cliff Holton, for those not old enough to have seen him play.
1742  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Super Sammo on: May 02, 2011, 09:11:57 am
Still a legend (as a player).....I hope he does get another football post soon.....
1743  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Stevenage on: May 01, 2011, 19:06:27 pm
Such a bitter and twisted bunch on "Borochat",moaning that the ref ............Like Westley didn't ?? He was going loopy about EVERY decision !!!

I think Westley had a case to moan about the ref's decisions......even tho' he is a prize ****.
1744  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The boy Dunn good on: May 01, 2011, 15:52:41 pm
He was brave this weekend but would not be my choice....one of the poorer keepers to grace our team & I kind of link him with Billy Turley , as always having a cock-up in his locker waiting to cost us points !
1745  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: I say it every year but .... on: May 01, 2011, 12:45:10 pm
How selfish and thick are some people!!

Before the match and at half time the club says

"we are under investigation for the pitch invasion v Rotherham, with potentially severe consequences"

"The players will not come back out on the pitch if there is a pitch invasion"

So what happens ....

I despair at how thick some people are somtimes ... ****s!

I assume you put yourself in that category. It's women with comments like this that get themselves ridiculed at football. Try watching the Ladies league.
1746  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Disappointed Conference fans.... on: May 01, 2011, 12:19:13 pm
Teams I'd like to see promoted to league 2 for next season out of the top conference clubs......

On another note, I'd rather see Wimbledon promoted over Luton for some reason.

Yes C'mon the real Dons.
1747  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The 2011/12 Promotion thread. on: May 01, 2011, 11:59:29 am
After game GJ says biggest expense will be pitch! Hope some £££ left for players! A cr*ppy pitch did A/Stanley no harm! Maybe we should run a few tractors over it - I'll baggy driving! Or hold a steam rally there?

Just get the old rugby league team to have a game on it.
1748  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Our Fans on: May 01, 2011, 10:32:07 am
One of the best ever atmosphere's at Sixfields. There did seem to be a bigger crowd than recorded tho'.

Their official site kept banging on about our crowd / support....so it must have been impressive.

Yes let that be the benchmark.....Fortress Sixfields where visiting teams fear to tread.etc.etc.etc.

Now that was more like it ...well done everyone.

1749  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Kevin Thornton on: May 01, 2011, 10:28:09 am

Ha Ha.  First time since Atko we have had a gaffer who winds up the other side.

The comment about him being ' a helium voiced ****.' made me smile.

& to be fair, I did think the red cards were harsh.....and the geoff hurst moment a little bit inconclusive and difficult to give....but we were due a bit of luck , big-time.

Great result ...now finish with a flourish GJ ready for the build up for next season.

UTC.
1752  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Ref Today on: April 30, 2011, 20:56:33 pm
I would like to see all of the big calls again!

The red cards looked soft from the North Stand, and I'm fairly sure the ball did go over the line on the Stevenage shot. As for the non-penalty, that was bizarre.

Yes must see the big decisions again

Certainly looked over the line and the red cards seemed harsh, particularly the second, I think the vociferous home support would have gone mad if these decisions were against us,....as for our penalty shout ...curious, would like to hear what the line-o said???
1753  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Josh walker our main problem on: April 30, 2011, 20:52:10 pm
Well at least we are in L2 next season.....so Walker is not suitable !
1754  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Retained list ? on: April 30, 2011, 20:50:21 pm
Yes massive clear out.

Start and build a real team....glad to see the back of this season, Anfield apart.
1755  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Cobblers may have a new folk hero on: April 30, 2011, 20:18:10 pm
A well taken goal which he passed into the net with not too much to aim at...well done.
1756  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: From Bury Fans on: April 30, 2011, 20:14:11 pm

1758  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: COME ON COBBLERS!!! on: April 30, 2011, 08:10:16 am
Just about to set off on the long trawl up to Northampton via Euston on the train.....better than getting tangled up with the inbreds of Herts. by road.

Really quite excited about it all now.

C'mon Cobblers....you can do it , this is bl88dy Stevenage were talking about here....remember the Cup game.

We are staying up !
1759  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: COME ON COBBLERS!!! on: April 29, 2011, 12:25:34 pm
I hope we recreate an atmosphere last seen for the Bristol Rovers play offs.

Rock the place !
1760  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Music for before the game on sat on: April 28, 2011, 12:44:23 pm
