1803  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Gillingham - LIVE on: October 30, 2010, 23:41:27 pm
Great turn out from the Gills fans especially considering their recent away record

They obviously fancied a win opportunity

From our point of view...great to win ugly!

The look on the Cambridge keeper's face as Gabbiadini's shot comes back off the bar is priceless.

even better than a poke in the eye  Evil

He's No Hero, certainly No NTFC Legend.......the question is "Will he celebrate when he scores tomorrow?".

Good idea...should have happened sooner.

A good read.
A great player.

Good Luck for the future Jamie.
1810  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The Match Day Experience on: October 28, 2010, 23:25:18 pm
The programme is now one of the worst in the division, and has steadily got worse over the recent years. I don't know how such a large 64 page effort can be such a useless read.
There is so little material in it and full of adverts and repeated features.
At 3 it is also expensive.
It should try and be original and have more reading features in it....just compare it with other clubs progs.

A poor job. I have collected programmes since the 1950s with many going back decades before that.

Not interested in the 50 / 50 tickets.
1811  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: David, Do your duty. on: October 28, 2010, 17:04:35 pm
The Blue Square is littered with ex- league clubs whose supporters  probably all agonised like us lot at this time of their last football league season..........

only to find themselves stuck down there in seeming perpetuity...

It'll be a lot easier stopping up, than gaining promotion next year....whatever happens

Action before it's too late !
1812  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: David, Do your duty. on: October 28, 2010, 16:47:04 pm
Don't give me that bullsh*t, if Sammo was making a success of this job and a bigger club came in for him he'd be off like a shot and don't you forget it!
He'd be off.......a racing  certainty !
Just like he wont walk away from his contract and will squeeze every last penny out of the club he loves !

Footballers and Managers are mercenaries, make no mistake , they don't view things from the fans perspective.

Sad but true.
1813  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Gillingham - I hope we lose on: October 27, 2010, 20:10:41 pm
Changing the topic slightly, to Gillingham's visit, their website has a guide to Saturday's trip, which includes a 'fact' which will come as a shock to many of us: 'Northampton has a fine town centre'.

Everything's relative....have you seen Gillingham?
1814  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: David, Do your duty. on: October 27, 2010, 16:49:27 pm
Action and make it Decisive Action....he who hesitates is lost.
1815  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Gillingham - I hope we lose on: October 27, 2010, 16:46:30 pm

The biggest change this season had been our style of football. I can't stand the long-ball game and I think Sammo is doing the right thing in getting our very young team to play the right way. On the days we get it right, we play teams off the park. The days we get it wrong, we looked like headless chickens. But that is to be expected of an inexperienced manager and a young side.
I hope DC sees this team as a work in progress that needs a bit more investment, rather than a change in manager.
Playing teams off the park.....we're joint bottom of the league... FFS. I'd settle for getting stuffed for 89 minutes and nicking a few results with own goals just for the mo! Shocked
As for Work in Progress ..... it was W-I-P at Notts County last year......progress all the way into the Blue Square....We need action...starting on Saturday ! Especially now the distraction of the Carling Cup is done.
1816  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: Alistair Slowe on: October 27, 2010, 11:44:30 am
I too over heard a convo last night stating that Harris and slowe's families are paying for them to be here. If so embarrassing Northampton town fc. I can only ask why !!

God help us if this is true....what level are we steadily sinking to???
1817  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Tonight in a Nutshell on: October 27, 2010, 10:21:31 am
On the subject of Dunn-y's lack of authority / confidence, again in evidence last night.

He has never been the same after his come back from injury and also seemed to be at his best when coached by Simon Brown last season imo.
1818  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: I actually love Sammo... on: October 27, 2010, 10:09:57 am
Sentiment has no place in this.....if wasn't for that stupid 3 year double contract they would both be gone.

Losing is habit forming ....we are out of a head long spiral.

Stop it before it is too late.

The players are at fault but it is the managers job to manage them,so the buck stops there.
1819  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: FA Cup - forest green away! on: October 27, 2010, 08:53:09 am
Forest Green Rovers website states 'Manager Nick Angel brings Northampton Town to The New Lawn'

Who is Nick Angel?

Nick Ancel, Club Secretary
